New ZealandNo review can do justice to Joan's amazing hospitality: from the moment we arrived, my wife and I felt more like we were welcomed into the family home rather than just staying at a B&B. On top of the excellent facilities, we enjoyed interesting and cheerful conversation with our hostess, recommendations on what tourist things to do / not to bother with, and a glass of wine in the evenings as we talked about our day. Nothing was too much trouble. We also ate a fantastic breakfast with Joan each morning. Staying here really was a fun highlight of our trip to New Zealand and we will always happily remember it.

Maple House is a real Homestay B&B with a host who will look after your every need. Plenty of free parking, safe garaging and washing facilties for your mountain bikes. Access to Redwood forest is just across the road where you have access to over 100km of mountain bike trails plus all the walking tracks amongst the Redwoods. You will feel really relaxed here with all home comforts!!
I have lived and worked in Rotorua for many years and have excellent knowledge of New Zaland and of the local area. My interests are gardening, music, sports , cycling, wine and I continue to travel widely overseas and in New Zealand
Rotorua is a geothermal area with many geysers, hot pools and boiling mud pools. This is a large Maori centre and there are several very interesting Maori Cultural evenings to attend. I recommend "Mitai". Rotorua is known for its adventure activities such as zip-lining, white water rafting, triathlons, marathons, water sports and trout fishing in our many rivers and lakes.
