The house was fantastic - located just back off the beach, and just a couple of minutes walk to the shop/restaurant. The breakfast food included was very generous (we appreciated the blueberries!). The kitchen was well equipped and it was handy having the laundry. Having decks and seating areas around the house meant that we could chase the sun (or shade) during the day.

Our home is set in a small settlement called Marahau. It is on the doorstep of the Abel Tasman National Park where you can go hiking, kayaking and swimming. We are only 50metres to the beachfront and have native bush just across the road where lots of native birds live. The house is architecturally designed and only a few years old. It large decks and big sliding doors for an indoor outdoor flow where you can barbeque and enjoy the summer evenings. The bathroom is tiled and has great water pressure. The kitchen is open plan and has all the modern amenities. The two bedrooms are a good size and easily accommodate the double beds and also have sliding doors to access the garden. There is also another unit that we rent out at the other end of the house, this is totally private from you. They have their own access, carpark and private decks. There is a garage in between , this has the laundry which you will share. Your part of the home is secure from the rest of the property.
Mark and Kay enjoy hosting guests and feel very privileged to be living in such a special part of New Zealand. They are keen road and mountain bikers and love to cycle the tracks in the local Kaiteriteri Mountain bike park. They also regularly go hiking and Mark is a keen fisherman
Marahau has two safe swimming beaches and a boat ramp. It is 1 km to the beginning of the Abel Tasman Nation Park and walking track. There is plenty of outdoor activities right on our doorstep Catch Water taxi into park, boat or walk back Day walk into Apple tree Bay for swim and picnic Take an Eco Tour with Abel Tasman Eco Tours Horse riding on the beach at Marahau Short car journey and walk to Split Apple Rock or 10 minute drive to Kaiteriteri beach and its golden sands where you can also access the mountainbike park 3 cafes within walking distance - Hooked on Marahau, The Fat Tui and The Park Cafe
