A spacious standalone one-bedroom unit with rural views towards Mt Maunganui and the coast. Newly refurbished with comfortable queen bed, open plan dining area, study/reading nook and living room with plenty of seating choices. We have a smart TV (Freeview only) and rural broadband wifi (free but not unlimited). The kitchenette has very basic amenities of jug, toaster and microwave. BBQ available if you want to cook in one night. Outside dining table and seats to relax on the deck and take in the views and soak up the peace (as long as you love birdsong!) Rural location but easy access to beaches and shops within a 30-minute drive. Spacious and peaceful rural setting with birdsong to wake you up. Wifi is available but it is rural broadband, good speed, not fibre and, sadly, not unlimited. Supplies (bread, spreads, cereal, milk) will be provided to make your own breakfast.
We look forward to hosting you at our property - We are semi-retired and work from home, we love to travel and have had many wonderful experiences around the world and hope to do so again soon. In the meantime, we are enjoying our own wonderful country - travelling and now hosting guests in our peaceful rural location in the Bay of Plenty. We love to cycle and enjoy good cafes so always keen to share these experiences with others like-minded. We live on-site but separated and you will enjoy your private space. We would plan to meet you on arrival and are easily contacted to answer any questions or requests. If we are away from the property there is a lockbox with keys for access. We are both fully vaccinated and will ensure that protocols are followed as mandated for your safety in these times. All areas are fully cleaned and sanitised between stays.
Whakamarama is about a 16-minute drive (on a good traffic day!) to Bethlehem and 30 minutes to the beaches of Papamoa or Mt Maunganui. 45 minutes north is beautiful Waihi beach. There are no shops nearby as we are rural, but at the bottom of our road is a good fish and chip shop, a dairy and a petrol station. There are local walkways nearby to explore peaceful regenerating bush - check out Puketoki Reserve and Te Puna Quarry Park. Omokoroa has a new walkway/cycleway that gives fantastic views of the estuary. There are a number of cafes within 10-15 minutes of our location.
