The Hot Pools are a great drawcard, always popular.
The Hot Pools are a great drawcard, always popular. Some great restaurants, cafes and bars. Lots of trees, provide welcome shade in summer. Plenty of walking and cycling tracks. Water sports - rafting, jet boats, fishing etc. Craft market on a Saturday. Always a busy place for locals and tourists, so book early.

Loved the location. Everything we needed. Even towels for the hot pools. Cabin warm and very comfortable. I could have stayed longer.
Hot pools were amazing.
I would love to come back.

The Mountain View’s were beautiful and the walking track varied from easy to difficult. The town was very pleasant, clean and well taken care of. The pools were wonderful and especially enjoyed being able to swim laps in the big pool which was never crowded. Overall it was a very pleasant place for a vacation

Hanmer Springs is lovely.
Hanmer Springs is lovely. This motel overpriced, cheap and nasty. False advertising using "premium".
Hanmer is popular but don't resort to booking at this motel if you find others booked out.

Nice small village with plenty to do.
Nice small village with plenty to do. Many walking and bike trails, nice shops and the Thermal pools were great for all ages. Plenty to keep families amused.
The whole town had a nice vib.
The down side would have to be the cost of eating out at the cafes and restaurants.

Great thermal pools.
Great thermal pools. My wife booked had two sessions in the spa rooms - a facial and a massage - while she was doing that I ventured on the new waterslides (at the age of 71) - they are now included in your admission charge. As we we were staying for two nights, we booked a two day ticket to the pools, this is good value and it's great to be able to pop to the pools early in the morning when there are fewer people around.
One evening we had a good meal at the Hanmer Springs Hotel (where we stayed), the second night we tried the Spice Village Indian restaurant, which I thoroughly recommend.
Great lunch one day at the Powerhouse cafe - by far the best cafe in Hanmer in my opinion.
We also went on the quad bikes at Hanmer Attractons - we were able to choose a quad buggy which is a two-person vehicle. This is well organised, with an instructor/guide who puts the emphasis on safety.
Lovely property set on the hill above Hanmer Springs. Very comfortable room with delightful balcony overlooking the town below with the valley and mountains beyond that. Perfect for sitting out eating breakfast whilst watching and listening to the birds in the garden. The hosts are delightful and have done a great job in creating a beautiful place. They also care deeply hate their guests enjoy their stay. Lovely breakfast. Would certainly recommend if you are staying in Hanmer.
This is one of the best motels we have stayed in. From the moment we arrived the hosts made us welcome and pointed us in the direction of local things to do which was very helpful. They upgraded us to a superb suite with great views and lots of space. Very comfortable bed and a great wet floor shower. We will definitely stay there again. It was on;y a five minute walk to the hot pools, cafes and restaurants. We were able to park our car and walk for our three day stay.
I had a really great stay at Kakapo Lodge. The staff were very welcoming and helpful when I checked in and out. The room I stayed in was lovely and had everything I needed. The whole lodge was very clean and tidy and there was ample parking space at the lodge. The lodge was easy to find and right by the thermal pools, which was great. I would definitely stay there again when in Hanmer Springs.
We had a two bedroom unit with beautiful views of the hills from our outside seating area. The unit was very clean and well stocked with things you don’t often find in other motels e.g. torches and a first aid kit. The complimentary breakfast cereals, coffee, milk etc were replaced daily.
Only a short walk into the town. We didn’t use the car in the 3 nights we were there.
We had a lovely 3 bedroom apartment for 4 adults and 2 children under 5. We were on the ground floor which was perfect. Large kitchen. Short stroll into the village for coffee. Location was just right as was our stay for 3 nights in Hanmer Springs. Owner and staff were incredibly helpful towards our needs.
Superb all round. Terrific friendly staff. And ... a rarity amongst NZ motels ... good coffee along with proper milk - so simple, yet so rare. Room was warmed in anticipation of our late arrival back from the pools.
The room was lovely but unfortunately the hotel appears to have just been taken over by new owners . They don't even know what their guest book states and they are running it on the cheap
Very enjoyable stay. Room was extremely comfortable, wonderful breakfast spread, good location at a short drive/long walk into town. Would stay here again if traveling to Hanmer Springs.
The hotel is gorgeous - beautifully renovated and maintained. The historical photos are fascinating. The staff are excellent and the food in the restaurant for dinner was delicious.
Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed for a short break away. I loved the fact that there was a mini kitchen in our room. Underfloor heating was a real luxury.
The heritage hotel, location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast and service in the restaurant. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Lovely character heritage home just a 5 minute walk to the hot pools. We had one of the cottages, very clean and quiet. Lovely hostess! Wish we had stayed longer.
