You are in driving distance to the Arataki Visitors Centre which sits on the top of the Waitakeres and introduces the local landscape, flora and fauna. From here you can plan your visit to the stunning West Coast braches like Piha and Kakrekare, Huia and Whataipu. There are the scenic walks that go from a mild walk to multi-day hikes. You can consult the staff at Arataki who can advise you on the walks best suited to your fitness. You might like to take a walk to the Fairy Falls or one of the other scenic walks. If you are wanting to sample the local cuisine, then you're a short drive from Titirangi Main Street and its selections of cafes and restaurants. West Auckland is also home to some of Auckland's oldest wineries. You can check with the visitors' centre for some suggestions. There is so much to do and see in this part of Auckland that is within easy driving distance and that is free, that makes this venue real value for money. You can learn to surf at Piha, go hiking to the beach where Jane Campion filmed "The Piano". The diversity and the character of the location really make this a magical place to stay.
