Sonja and Filip were amazing costs (along with MUM xx). The location was first class, perched nicely on the side of the hill with great panoramic views away from the noise and traffic near the beach. The rooms and facilities were first class. Breakfast was out of this world, for some may be too much, but that did not put us off extending ours for two days. Facilities are all there: pool, jacuzzi and a shared kitchen. Probably the best accommodation we have had on the whole four weeks in New Zealand.

The Bay Lodge is simply stunning, everything that could have been added to ensure a comfortable stay has been, all the boxes ticked including heated swimming pool, spa pool, outdoor furniture and day beds. The stunning view, especially from the spa, the tasteful decor, the attention to detail, the friendly welcome from the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. There were special touches like chocolates, cookies and freshly baked carrot cake on arrival. Very good quality fixtures and fittings.

Beyond Perfect in Golden Bay Our visit to The Bay lodge in Pohara was beyond perfect. Sonya and Filip thought of every detail when creating this special piece of paradise. Aside from the great location and stunning view across Golden Bay, the room is beautifully decorated with absolutely everything you could want and more. We enjoyed wonderful breakfast baskets, received tips on where to visit and explore, and helpful advice on tides. We would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for outstanding accommodation in Golden Bay. Thank you Sonya and Filip for helping to make our trip extra special.
