Walnut on Russell was established in 2024, on the site previously home to Wanaka Physio, a practice run by one of the property owners who is renowned in the international snow sports community as one of New Zealand’s top physiotherapists. The owners also operate the Mountain View Backpackers, located right next door, which is managed by Hayley, a long-time resident of Wanaka. Hayley brings a wealth of experience from her extensive travels, having worked in a variety of accommodation settings, including five-star hotels in Canada, chalets in France, and numerous hotels across Wanaka. With a focus on providing unparalleled comfort and attention to detail, Walnut on Russell ensures that every aspect of your Wanaka getaway is catered for, offering you a truly exceptional stay

Each cabin features a lavish king-sized bed in a separate bedroom, a rejuvenating rain shower in the bathroom, and convenient laundry facilities. Relax in the open-plan kitchen and lounge area, equipped with everything you need for a delicious meal or enjoy nearby restaurants within a five-minute walk. Unwind with a good book or indulge in an in-room massage. Catch up on your reading on our cozy couches or step outside onto the deck, perfect for soaking up the sun after a day of adventure. Choose from our three alpine styled cabins for a group getaway or enjoy the privacy of your own retreat. Although the differences are subtle one cabin has been tastefully designed to be wheelchair accessible. Please advise at time of booking whether you require this particular cabin.
