El Peregrino was an oasis of peace inside the tumultuous Abancay. The hotel itself is very clean, roomy, convenient and its staff friendly and professional. The restaurant and food is top notch, however the complimentary breakfast was somewhat scarce.

This is a great option before starting the trek to Choquequirao. Elizabeth was very helpful in explaining the route and arranging transport (a pick-up from the highway to Cachora and a 5am ride the next day to the start of the hike, 50 soles each). The room was simple, but spacious and comfortable enough. Elizabeth also provided dinner, although there are more options in the town centre, 10 mins walk away. There are beautiful views of the mountains from the property.

This place is the bomb, so peaceful with absolutely charming and generous hosts. Katherine and Jean could not have been more welcoming, from wood fired pizza and delicious Malbec. Comfortable beds, hot showers, secure moto parking, hammocks with a breathtaking vista. My only regret is that I could not stay longer.

Beautiful setting and strategically located close to the trail head of choquequirao. The owners don Bito and doña Cristina received us exceptionally with such warmth. They went above and beyond to make our stay nice, and provided valuable information for the upcoming trek. They basically helped us organize he upcoming days. We were very thankful for that. Also doña Cristina is an exceptional cook. Dinner was 5 star and breakfast was also amazing. Best way to start a 4 day trekking adventure to choque.
