The City of Tacloban is a pity. There is nothing perfect.
The City of Tacloban is a pity. There is nothing perfect.
They need at least 50 Years to bring it up to near Canadian/American standards. It's impossible to walk safely as you could be overrun, or trip over obstacles or holes on roads or site walks if there are any at all.
Blocked by parking cars or motorcycles. When you look over the roofs from your hotel room it looks like Bangladesh.
There are lots of eateries, but all pretty junky. And the food is a disaster.
You can get around with this Toysycles, but they will rip you off.
There is absolutely no beach access.
Avoid Tacloban all together.

People are very nice. Laid back. Not intense.
People are very nice. Laid back. Not intense. Our time is short and so we had no time to really explore. Sto Nino Cathedral is worth visiting.
We went to see the lighted San Juanico Bridge but after waiting for two hours, nothing happened. It was a waste of our time.
The airport could be improved. It was very hot at the waiting lounge. Toilet is okay.

Just like any other city in the Philippines.
Just like any other city in the Philippines. Crowded, Traffic, Noise, Pollution, Hot, Lots to do, Lots to see.
Oh Almost forgot this one. For some reason or another Tacloban still requires you to have a QR CODE to enter Robinson, and a few other places. When we asked the Police Guard why, the reply was expected. Because they tell me to do this...lol. Seriously though, this is whats so puzzling about the Philippines. Every BRGY, Island, or City is different when it comes to COVID. Mask on/Mask off, No QRC/YES QRC. SMH.
Just figured since its all one GOV, you would follow what they put out.
This is why its More Fun in Dah Philippines... P.S Its cleaner and less Dirt and Dust like DIRTYGUETE (Dumaguete). Such a Dirty, and Dusty City that one is...

We were there to help people hurt in the recent typhoon -- not as tourists. Tacloban is still recovering from the big typhoon 5-6 years ago, and now has suffered another as well as a big fire that shut down the one main mall.
Comfortable, large, luxurious rooms. Big beds. Reasonable spread for breakfast with new items each day. And who can argue with the location? Not only is Robinson's Mall a few footsteps across the way, there are also all modes of transportation very nearby that will take you anywhere you wish in Tacloban. A couple other small but significant high points: Staff is more than willing to let you store luggage; and the doormen are extremely polite and helpful.
Great location, downtown. Parking availabe on the property. During our stay there was a power outage, but that had a large generator on site to keep everything running. Even the AC...
The bathroom was terrific. Nice shower etc. Looked newly renovated.
Check in/ out was quick and easy.
Its an older hotel, but upgraded and well maintained. Will stay here again when in Tacloban.
Whereas the room that I stayed was for a single person, there was a common area / kitchenette that’s meant to be shared with occupants in an adjunct room. But I got to use it as a meeting place to work with colleagues. Also, their house water was served in reusable bottles. The hotel is very accessible to a mall which is across the street.
The place is accessible as its walking distance to Robinson Mall where you can find all necessity and restaurants, and I have noticed that all employees are friendly to their guests. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends, surely we will visit this hotel again soon.
The coffee lounge 😍 was amazing and had delicious food and friendly atmosphere and staff. The hotel staff was friendly and generous. You can store your bags there while waiting for the two pm check in. I would book here again.
Absolutely and highly recommended to everyone looking for a place to stay in Tacloban City. Superb facilities, food, service, and staff! Everything's awesome, especially the smell and ambiance.
