Ren og fin leilighet med kort avstand til sentrum og stranden. Det var både håndklær og strandhåndkler til oss, et velutstyrt kjøkken og alt vi måtte trenge av vaskeutstyr, toalettpapir og såpe. Veldig hyggelig vert. Her kommer vi gjerne tilbake.

The apartment is located in the historic Villa Herbst, built in 1875 as a summer residence for the Herbst family – renowned industrialists and philanthropists from Łódź, connected with the Scheibler textile dynasty. The villa has preserved its historical character and remains one of the most recognizable buildings in this part of Sopot. Over the years, it has hosted many notable figures, including artists and members of the aristocracy. In 1910, even the German crown prince Wilhelm Hohenzollern stayed here during a journey through Pomerania. The villa is listed as a heritage monument of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and marked with a characteristic blue conservation plaque. The building represents a historicist architectural style with neo-Renaissance elements – including a distinctive mansard roof, ornate architectural details, wrought-iron balconies, and a preserved original interior layout. High ceilings, thick walls, and large windows create a sense of calm and elegance. The staircase features original solid wood steps and Art Nouveau railings, while the entrance is adorned with a hand-crafted door and transom window. From the apartment windows, you can enjoy a view of the quiet, green Herbst Park, situated along the picturesque Eliza stream. Among the old trees, you can relax away from the city’s bustle, listening to birdsong and the gentle sound of flowing water. The park offers walking paths, shaded benches, and a small playground. At the same time, the apartment is located just 650 meters from the beach, and a few minutes’ walk from the famous Sopot Pier and Monte Cassino Street. This is a place with a soul – perfect for those who seek not only comfort but also a unique atmosphere, a touch of history, and closeness to nature. Ideal for a family holiday, a romantic getaway, or a peaceful seaside retreat.
Hi, my name is Przemek. I’m a filmmaker by profession – I create documentaries, reportages, and socio-ecological projects. Every summer, I spend my time in Sopot, where I share my apartment in the historic Villa Herbst. This place means a lot to me – its history, atmosphere, and long-time neighbors create a unique spirit that I’m happy to share with others. The villa dates back to the late 19th century and has preserved its original character. It is surrounded by majestic old beech trees that I’ve known and loved since childhood. On warm days, I often retreat to the nearby Eliza Stream – a quiet spot where I like to read and unwind. Together with my elderly neighbors, we’re actively involved in preserving and restoring the villa, making sure its heritage lives on. I also care deeply about nature – I support pollinating insects by creating a friendly environment for them in the garden and nearby park. I believe that caring for small ecosystems can make a meaningful difference. I’m happy to host people who are looking for more than just a place to stay – those who appreciate soul, nature, and a sense of history. If you want to experience the true spirit of Sopot, I warmly welcome you.
Villa Herbst is located in Dolny Sopot – a historic and green district that has preserved its charming villa-style character and seaside atmosphere. A quiet path through Herbst Park and Arkadiusz Rybicki Square leads to the building – a small, peaceful space with benches nestled among old trees. The villa sits right next to the historic Sopot railway station, and its windows overlook the Eliza Stream – a natural brook flowing under the shade of majestic beech trees. This closeness to both nature and history creates a unique sense of calm, despite the central location. The beach is just 650 meters away, along with the iconic Sopot Pier – the longest wooden pier in Europe. Along the coast stretches North Park, perfect for morning walks and coffee among the trees and birdsong. In the opposite direction lies the Sopot Hippodrome – a large venue with racetracks and an equestrian club, regularly hosting festivals, competitions, and horseback shows. A short walk also leads to the famous Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street – known locally as "Monciak" – full of cafés, restaurants, galleries, and boutiques. Here you’ll also find the Crooked House, a modern landmark of Sopot. Art lovers should visit the State Art Gallery in the Spa House, the seaside Sopot Museum housed in an elegant Art Nouveau villa, and the Forest Opera – a century-old open-air amphitheater nestled in the woods, hosting international music and theater events. The area offers many nature trails and cycling routes – from Zajęcze Hill to the Sopot Forest and the larger Tri-City Landscape Park. Recommended dining spots include White Marlin with its sea view, the popular Bar Przystań, and the cozy Filiżanka i Kubek café. Villa Herbst is a perfect starting point for exploring Sopot – a town where nature, culture, and seaside elegance come together in perfect harmony.
