Hidden between the green hills of Mazury, this charming house is full of nostalgic details. From the veranda, you have a direct view of your private lake - surrounded by woods. A fairytale place where you only hear nature: frogs, crickets, and the distant call of a cuckoo. The former farmhouse has been lovingly restored using lots of wood and natural materials, creating a cosy and spacious holiday home for those who seek peace, space, and simplicity. Lakeview Paradise #1 is part of this original building and forms one side of the house – fully private, with its own entrance and veranda. The other half may also be rented or occupied by us. There are four homes in total (spread across three buildings, see last picture) on the large fenced property – each with its own entrance and outdoor space, ensuring a sense of privacy for every guest. While you’re not entirely alone on the grounds, there’s plenty of space to breathe and unwind. We simply ask all guests to be mindful of one another – especially when travelling with dogs (yes, they’re very welcome – just let us know in advance). 🐾 Bringing pets? Dogs and cats are more than welcome! We kindly ask a small one-time fee of 15 EUR (60 PLN) per pet per stay. Please let us know in advance if you’re bringing a furry friend. Hi! I’m Kim – a mother of three, a communication professional, and your host. I love nature, bonfires, barefoot dancing, strong coffee and the occasional cold beer or homemade vodka – depending on the season ;) In 1991, our family bought this old farm together with Polish friends and slowly turned it into a peaceful hideaway in the heart of Mazury. The property is shared, loved, and lived in – sometimes by us, sometimes by others. Don’t expect five-star luxury – but rather a beautiful, authentic spot in nature, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We love to welcome guests who appreciate nature and the beauty of simple living. The houses are surrounded by forest and lakes, with room to breathe, unwind, and explore. The Wild Woods Getaway is nestled in the heart of Mazury – Poland’s beloved Land of a Thousand Lakes – and guests are often surprised by how peaceful and untouched the area still feels. It’s a region where nature leads and life moves slowly, the way it’s meant to. From your veranda, you can watch the mist rise over the lake, hear the cranes calling from across the water, and if you're quiet, you might spot deer, foxes, or even a moose at dusk. The lake in front of the house has become much shallower over the past years – but it’s still perfect for paddling, SUP boarding, or a peaceful canoe tour along the edge. We provide an antique canoe and kayak for our guests, free of charge. For proper swimming, we recommend the deep lake in Kosewo (2 km) – a local gem with clear water, jetties, and a little beach. Right across the road, you’ll find a cosy restaurant serving great coffee and delicious Italian food – the perfect post-swim treat. Looking for something special? One of the most beloved experiences in the region is kayaking on the Krutynia River – a slow, crystal-clear river that winds through ancient forests and nature reserves. Ideal for both beginners and nature lovers, it’s a peaceful adventure you won’t forget. Families love visiting the Kadzidłowo Wildlife Park, just a short drive away, where you can walk among deer, lynxes, wild boars, and other native animals in an open and natural setting. And for a change of scenery, explore the nearby towns of Mrągowo and Mikołajki. Mrągowo offers lake promenades, music festivals, and local charm, while Mikołajki – the “Sailing Capital of Poland” – has a pretty harbour, cafés, and a lively summer vibe. At the end of the day, come home to the Wild Woods, light a fire, and let the sounds of nature guide you into deep rest. This is Mazury – pure, wild, and unforgettable.
