As a golfer this is the perfect spot.
As a golfer this is the perfect spot. Many many quality options with 20-30 minutes. I still think it's the best location when traveling with a family. The beach is awesome and the food choices are excellent. Great access to sea tours and water taxi to Ferragudo from the marina. There's so much to do. Nice little town to walk around, beautiful promenade along the River Arade. Options of long walks along the beaches. Some places require maintenance. Easy access launderettes for long stays and lots of apartments too.

Great location of the resort. Too far from the malls and other destinations that we would've want to visit. We ate at the the restaurant at the resort and also in town. Also the restaurants on the beach.

There are few places directly from the city center where you can find yourself so close to the incredible power of nature. The combination of a big city and beautiful natural beaches. Amazing, quiet town with lots of small beaches. One of the most beautiful beaches for me ever. Easily accessible by train, bus, car, taxi, Uber, or boat. About 2 hours from Faro airport. by car. There is everywhere to roam. If you see everything in the city, you don't have to run far to other big cities, but just move to the suburbs, in the east or west by the ocean. You will also be charmed and surprised by their natural scenery.

We stayed at Praia Da Rocha and regularly walked into Portimão Centre. We used the train to visit Lagos which was a short trip and reasonably priced. The beach was amazing and there are plenty of shops.

It was pretty deserted in Februrary and the weather was too cold to get into the water. We had a major tropical storm with high winds and very high waves so the weather was against us. Luckly we did the boat tour to the caves and grottoes on the first day before the storm, but the rest of our stay was impacted.

He knew we're coming for a honeymoon, so he prepared us a little romantic surprise. The moment we entered a house, it smelled really wonderful and calming - like we entered a nice spa. The apartment was really nice and the bed was extra comfortable, we slept like at home. I think this was the best apartment we could've stayed at in Portimao and I would definitely recommend it to all of you! But if it’s summer, it will be crowded so you may be annoyed by live entertainment. It didn’t bother us at all. The apartment is a bit old but you can use the kitchen, washing machine, bathroom is clean. I like that it is spacious so people with big luggages can spread and open their bags at the same time. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check-in 2 hrs earlier than the usual.

Beach was 100m away, bit of a hill down to the promenade, but nothing too strenuous. Rooms were spacious and well kitted out with a kitchenette that had a microwave and small living area, again, ideal for families. These rooms were cleaned daily by the lovely cleaning staff. The Wifi was very good, didn't drop once while we were there. Overall, we we were very impressed with the Hotel Da Rocha.

The room was also quite big and with access to the balcony - With a view to the football stadium :) The location is great for taking buses around in Algarve and the train station is also not that far away. The city center is close and the location is therefore great for enjoying Portimão. The beach is about 30 min walk away. Mainly a good experience :)

And 30 min walk to the old part of the city with its authentic businesses. The front desk worker - young man - was very helpful. Room is quite spacious. Interior design of the room is great, very lovely. View was very good (mine was with sea view) considering another hotel in front of it. Everything worked. I skipped breakfast, so I can't comment on it.

They treated me and my friends like family and were very attentive to all our needs. Manuel gave me his personal line. Any queries I had he’ll answer. I even broke out with cold sores in Portugal due to the heat. Ana went to the chemist to buy me medicine. She did not charge me to get it. She paid for it. I will not stay anywhere else when I visit. I officially have Portuguese parents in them both. The view of the beach is spectacular.
