“The location was amazing, with stunning views across the valley. The Grain Silos were beautifully designed and spacious inside. The 2 verandas were well placed to enjoy the afternoon sun. Our evening meal for 18euro (starter, main, dessert, coffee, liqueur) was locally sourced typical Portuguese family food, and a bottle of wine for 10 euro was a bargain. But the absolute star of the property was the organic swimming pool - with frogs, insects and water lilies used to cleanse the pool. The best swim ever in warm, pure water with no chemicals or detergents. The owners were so helpful and generous and such a pleasure to talk to. This project is an exciting venture into bio ecology, and the owners have really gone out of their way to be creative and ecological and deserve to be supported. “Beautiful location with a unique feel- as the rooms have been converted from grain silos. This has been done brilliantly. Our bedroom was spacious and full of light with a lovely view from the windows and balcony. We ate an excellent meal of home cooked local produce with very good local wine on the outside terrace watching the sun set over the mountains. “The accommodation itself was amazing! Such a unique, clean, modern and cozy little getaway with a fantastic view. The owner was so very friendly and communicating with him was very easy considering we do not know any Portuguese. Great breakfast in a quaint little sitting area with a real fireplace. Think anyone touring the Douro Valley area should definitely try and spend a night or two here if you possibly can.
