We loved our stay at Casa das Orbas in Manteigas! First off all, the house itself - wow! It looks (and feels) less like a hotel and more like a 18th century mansion, with a lounge with a fireplace and a huge dining table upstairs. The rooms are big and accupted with all that you need on your travels, and off course the beds are so very comfy! We had dinner and breakfast there and enjoyed it a lot. The host was very charming and welcoming and helped us to get around in the Park the Serra de Estrela. Highly recommended! You won't regret it!

The estate is 250 yrs old and magnificent! With so many rooms to discover and the furniture and decor of the era! We will definitely come back. Oh and great breakfast!

The owner was very kind and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable and decorated very nice. The building is 18th century, well taken care of and so interesting. She gave us a quick tour. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices not to mention the best coffee we have had in Portugal. The grounds are just beautiful, you will definitely enjoy your stay here.

We know that it is very hard to preserve the old furniture and yet the bed in our room is high and relatively narrow so it is somehow uncomfortable.
A very special place located in an historical house. Preservation is very impressing. The view, the special setting and the breakfast quality is awsom. The location is very convenient for a stroll in the town.

Casa das Obras was one of the highlights of the hotels we stayed at in Portugal. Run by the most exceptional owner, who is also the hostess, chef and all around fabulous lady of the house. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional, and we were provided with many delicious and vegetarian options. I would highly recommend this property. Our King size bed in one of the newer rooms was very comfortable, and the little extras in the bedroom were very appreciated. It was also exceptionally quiet in the bedroom. We played pool in the living areas, and enjoyed this old house from the 1800s.

It is a 17th century casa run by a wonderful family. They have 6 rooms that they rent out and I believe the other 6 are for their own consumption. It’s a fantastic casa and we loved it completely. They have a nice little relaxing room with a lot of books, tv with Netflix, card games etc and an awesome fireplace. They also have a pool table in the gaming room asking with a chess board. The breakfast is very fresh and has a very good spread. The family who runs the place is extremely friendly and shared a lot of details with us and gave us amazing information on places to visit etc. this is a must must stay casa.

This place is a little gem! The house is spacious and beautiful and guests get to use many shared rooms (there is even a pool table). There's a table with hot water for tea/coffee, fruits, cake, and cookies throughout the day for guests. The delicious breakfast is a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommended.

There was nothing I did not like, nor can I think of anything they could have done better.
Absolutely everything. We have stayed at many properties over the years but THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY BEST. It is a unique mix of olde world style with modern comforts. Would definitely stay there again.

I don't have anything to point out.
The breakfast was very good with a variety of things to eat. The beds were very comfortable and very big. The host was very attentive to our requests. The common rooms are warm and cozy, we can watch TV and play snooker. Overall it was a great place to stay in Manteigas!

This is a lovely 18th century residence that has been renovated by the family that built it. It is full of character with period furniture and paintings. The host, Amelia, could not have been more helpful with restaurant recommendations and tourist information. It is in a great location for visiting the Serra Estrella and the local historical castles and villages.
