Easy check-in handing off keys, walking through grounds. - Private hill, amazing ocean view, especially at sunrise being on the east side of island. - Access to fireplace in living room. - Close to miradouros and town of Furnas. - Stocked with snacks from Azores including a local pineapple, milk, and $5 bottles of wine. - Added live flowers to reservation. - Really spacious, bigger than in pictures great design.

SwitzerlandNot many accommodations have received a 10,0 from me. Casa do Castanheiro is certainly one of the best houses I have ever rented. An old Adega enlarged with new minimalistic construction and a perfect garden with a pool. A house is a careful mix of old and modern architecture, tastefuly decorated, lit by a lot of ambiental indirect light. I would like to point out the fireplace which I haven't met at other places on Azores, which I find a very important piece, and made the house really comfy and cosy in the evening. The owner is very responsive and nice, and there was no problem arranging check-in out of the hours stated. Many thanks to Liliana for late check-in and showing us the house and giving us pieces of advice on Sao Miguel. I would certainly like to spend my holiday in Casa do Castanheiro again.

GermanyVery warm welcome. We were looking for a quiet location, far from tourism hot spots. Regarding this, the location was perfect. We of course were OK with driving 10 minutes to the next (small) supermarket, and 30 - 40 minutes to the spots we wanted to visit. The house was equipped with everything you may need and more, the pool was perfect and very clean. At the time when we were there end of September, Chili and sweet pepper were ready to pick in the garden - perfect to add to our meals. Our host offered to help us out with additional support, but as everything was already available, we don't need to come back to this offer.
