There was a large garden area outside with table and chairs set up under the large trees. It was too cool at that time for us to take advantage of the pool which looked inviting for a hot day. The breakfast was buffet style with adequate choices. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. The welcome port drink outside in the garden was a bonus. Two nights is an ideal stay as there isn't a lot to do without transport nearby. Beautiful historic Obidos gets a lot of day tours and is very busy during the day but late in the afternoon, it is quieter. There are some quaint restaurants in the old town. The hotel is a short walk up the hill to the old town so it was very quiet. Enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Easy access to the historic center. The receptionist as very nice and helpful: we had a parking financial penalty to pay and she helped us to do so. Price was good considering the historical center is a few minutes walk

The excellent staff. They were all so very friendly and helpful. Checking in was easy. Our tv didn't work at first so a pleasant young lady from the reception came straight away to help. And the breakfast!!!!! Natural orange juice. Wow. And a Coffee Machine. What more could one want. Oh yes. After a busy day it was so peaceful to relax in the garden and take in the beautiful scenery or even take a dip in the pool.

Staff was really helpful with all sort of tourist information, and favours. Breakfast was good and variegate, room was clean and the price was adequate. A little garden behind the room let us enjoy a short and comfortable lunch with town's products.

Well located hotel which is clean and well run and good value. It is about 5 - 10 mins walk to the Obidos. Having stayed in hotels in France and Spain within walled towns with the nightmare of driving and parking Hotel Louro was a good choice. There is free onsite parking which makes it easy to visit other towns in the area. Room was clean and had what was needed - perhaps in need of modernisation and air conditioning - lack of the latter was not a problem in itself but leaving the window open meant the cock that crowed from 4 a.m was louder - as were the barking dogs! There is a nice garden with tables and chairs at the front of the hotel with views over the countryside - sitting out here could unfortunately be spoiled by barking dogs - not the hotel's fault but seems to be a problem in Portugal as we have encountered it in various areas of the Algarve. Staff were friendly and helpful and suggested places to visit in the area as well as restaurants in Obidos.
