O Barro is a typical Alentejo house, a cozy corner, faithful to the Alentejo tradition and full of memories from other times. Located in the heart of the historic village of Redondo, O Barro is a small museum house, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relaxing while discovering the stories of our people. Restored using materials and techniques from the "old days", but with the necessary amenities for day-to-day comfort, O Barro is composed, on the ground floor, by a large and tall room, typical “listening” fireplace, bathroom, kitchen and dining and living area with wine cellar, being the upper floor exclusively composed of the bedroom. The unevenness of the floors, the large fireplace, traditional in the Alentejo houses, the high chimney (for listening), the use of clay, shale stone, bricks commonly called "donkey brick", colors, fabrics, architecture, treated wooden ceilings, decoration, furniture and materials of daily use, typical of the region, make d'O Barro a unique experience, where you can enjoy the calm and peace, so characteristic from the Alentejo.
O Barro is located in the heart of the village of Redondo, close to the wall and gates of the old Castle, close to the Enoteca and the Wine and Barro Museums, close to the various potteries scattered throughout the village and the numerous restaurants where you can enjoy the typical Alentejo gastronomy. Access is easy (either via GPS or simply asking the good people of the land) and free parking is available on the street itself. Nearby, it is possible to enjoy the best that nature has to offer, namely: Serra D'Ossa, with its pedestrian path and walkways, between streams, small waterfalls and hermit caves; Vigia Dam, for relaxing moments of leisure such as family picnics, recreational fishing or simple dives to escape the Alentejo heat; or simply discover the nooks and crannies of this plain of ours. You can also visit nearby: Alandroal, Juromenha, Borba, Estremoz, Evoramonte, Vila Viçosa, Évora, Alqueva, Amieira.
