Breakfast was delicious, the hosts provided various kinds of dark bread (when they learnt we are from Germany) apart from home-made jams and cakes. As we had to stay another night because of the ferry, they very kindly offered us a different room. If you are interested you can learn a lot about social and cultural life in the Azores, the host is a mine of information!

My father and I loved this quaint, lovely quinta. Our room was an old historical mill room, and was quite comfortable. There are lovely gardens to wander through on the land, and a small above ground pool for hot days. The best part were are hosts! Francisco and Lucília were wonderful friends to have on our journey. They offer the opportunity to eat a beautiful traditional breakfast inside their home each morning, took genuine care in our interests, shared stories, and made great recommendations of local things to do. Francisco has a particular passion for preserving local culture, which we admired and appreciated greatly.

The enriching discussions on the history of the Azores during the excellent breakfasts. The touching surprise (flowers and cake) to celebrate the birthday. Thanks for hospitality. Peaceful location, access to lovely gardens, our hosts were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to help us. Quinta do Espirito Santo is more than just a place to stay it is an experience not to be missed, the wonderful breakfasts, fresh orange juice, traditional breads, home made jams and a selection of Açorean cheeses sitting in a traditional dining room around a shared dining table and the interesting conversations. We very much hope to return.

Loger dans une quinta du 18e siècle avec du mobilier ancien. Le couple qui tient la quinta est extrêmement sympathique et Francisco, le mari, parle très bien français et anglais. Il est très cultivé et on apprend beaucoup de choses sur les Açores et il donne des conseils et des anecdotes sur les Açores très intéressantes. Il peut aussi vous réserver un restaurant. Le petit-déjeuner pris avec les propriétaires et les autres pensionnaires est excellent et pantagruélique. Tout est délicieux avec des fromages açoriens qui sont un régal, d'excellentes confitures, des gâteaux très très bons et même des fruits inconnus en France que le couple nous fait découvrir. Il y a aussi du jus d'orange fraîchement pressé et encore d'autres choses. La salle de bain possède une douche à l'italienne, très pratique. La quinta est bien situé pour visiter toute l'île et est proche d'Angra.
