The location is incredible and the staff were amazing. We had the choice between two rooms, both of which were spacious and beautifully decorated, and we choose one that was a little more private and secluded. There is a waterfall where they do massages, although this was not an option at the moment, and it looked incredible. Food was simple, but tasty. There is also an incredible walk down to the river Paiva which you can see from the hotel gardens and pool.

Beautiful small scale rural hotel in quiet forest area. Lovely rooms, very well designed hotel set-up with nice private corners everywhere. Amazing breakfast, very good deal for dinner (4 courses, with water and wine for 20 euro). Simple but nice lunch options available. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had breakfast and dinner on terrace with amazing views. Highly recommend.

It was a little noisy due to the sound of doors opening and closing at night and in the morning, and, if we go back again, we would definitely ask for a room near the pool area and away from the main reception area.
The location is incredible and the staff were amazing. We had the choice between two rooms, both of which were spacious and beautifully decorated, and we choose one that was a little more private and secluded. Wifi not so good (but who cares with such views). Road going there is narrow and steep but just do it, place is worth it.

Just a little bit noisy in the morning
The location is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are very nice and decorated, it’s the perfect place to relax. The staff is so amazing! There are so nice, really take the time for you, and treat you like long-term friends! There are so many things to visit in the area. We will definitely come back!

Breakfast offering was just ok, but dinner was a disaster. Food is not cooked on site, but rather ordered from a local restaurant. Dishes tasted like they had been delivered 30 minutes too late. On 2 of the 3 nights we stayed, the hotel mixed up our order and there was no opportunity to change the dishes. Octopus delivered instead of codfish on one night, and meat lasagna instead of vegetable lasagna on the other. The hotel apologized and did not charge us for the dishes, but that did not compensate for the hunger pains. Staff in general were friendly and tried to assist as best they could, but struggled to communicate in English. The road to the hotel is extremely steep and winding, and parking outside the hotel is very limited making it difficult to get a spot if taking a day trip from the hotel - especially if driving a big car. The hotel reception lounge has a large screen projector and dvd player but the staff could not get it to work.
Swimming pool was great, overlooking the river below and surrounding mountains. Stayed in the 3-bed villa, which was spacious, clean and contained everything needed for a short stay. Couple of nice walking trails from the grounds of the hotel down to the river and surrounding valley.
