The house was very comfortable and we had run of the house with the dining room stocked with coffee and tea and apples, the library with books and Libations and the living room had a television with satellite channels! The caretaker made us continental breakfast each morning and offered us an egg dish cooked to order. The location is a 5 minute walk straight up a hill to the Sintra Palace and main center with shopping and restaurants. You need to be able bodied to make that walk! Luckily we are but we are of an age that we wouldn’t want to do it at night as there are no sidewalks on the very narrow streets or lights. Uber is available! We would go back at stay at this Guest House!
United States of AmericaThis charming, old family home is perfectly located to see Sintra. The owner and her assistant always make it feel like home (this was my third stay) and the breakfast in the muraled dining room is bountiful.
United States of AmericaA charming old grand house with lovely garden, sitting room, breakfast room, etc. Lovely period appointments. We had a full attic conversion space. Bed fit a bit tightly in the sleeping area, but was the most comfortable we’ve had in Portugal. Attentive, but unobtrusive resident manager and an exceptional breakfast in elegant space next to the garden. 2 block walk to Sintra’s central plaza.

United States of AmericaRegina was such a gracious and welcoming hostess and made us feel very welcomed. She is a credit to the hospitality of the guest house. She had a wonderful recommendation for dinner and made sure everything was meeting our expectations.
United States of AmericaOur favorite area was the outside terrace which is perched so that you can see the Pena Castle and the Castle if the Moors in the distance! And the inside is so beautiful as reflected in all the photos, the breakfast room has a beautiful hand painted mural. Maria is a wonderful host, she and her able assistant give you privacy and space that you need but are there when you need them! Maria even offered to give us a ride to our next location as she was going in that direction!

Located in Sintra old town, a 30-minute drive from Lisbon International Airport, São Miguel Guest House offers free WiFi access in all areas. It is a 19th-century house with a luxurious garden.
Rooms are stylish and include a private bathroom. Some rooms offer views of the Moorish castle and others have a marble bathroom. The guest house's terrace offers views of the Pena National Palace.The garden suite offers a special and unique experience as it is surrounded by nature, being part of the garden.
A breakfast is served daily in the dining room with fresco paintings and dark wood furnishings. It can also be served outdoors, overlooking the unique 19th-century garden.
Guests can walk amid the jacaranda trees, wisteria and Portuguese roses of the garden. When the weather is colder, reading a book from the library by the fireplace is a nice option after a day of sightseeing.
Sintra Train Station is 0.8 mi and busses to the city's palaces leave 650 feet away from São Miguel Guest House. Lisbon city center is 16 mi away and Guincho is 20 minutes’ driving.
