Absolutely everything: the installations, the view, the location. Breakfast was wonderful with a great variety of options and flavors, including the awesome local cheese ("Queijo da Serra da Estrela"). Elsa, the owner and manager of SerraVale, is an attraction on her own and made our stay even more special.
BrazilAn amazing property. The setting, facilities and breakfasts were excellent. Add the enthusiasm of our host Elsa, our 4 night stay in Manteigas was memorable. Our main reason for visiting Manteigas was to explore the hiking trails in the area. Elsa was a tremendous resource, not only in providing up-to-date information on our options, but also advice on exploring this charming mountain town.
CanadaElsa, our hostess was amazing with her warm welcome and advice for making the most of our visit to Manteigas. The breakfast was exceptional and our room very comfortable. I also liked the location - easy to get in and out of.
AustraliaThe house is idyllic on the outside and modern on the inside. Our room was very spacious and clean. Elsa was a superb host and gave us great advice about things to do and see in the National Park itself and the rest of Portugal! 10/10, would visit again.

SpainElsa is great! What a wonderfull host she is. She can advise you on all the hikes in the area and gives a really personal service. She even gave us cake and bananas as a lunch on our long day hike :-). Our room was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast is good value and the area is calm and quiet. I would recommend staying in Elsa's house to everyone who wants to visit and hike in this area.
