Amazing old Manor house building, beautifully presented. Great pool with pool toys inc inflatable boat which was fun. Very hospitable hosts - offered port and got pool table into use for us, lent the 3 of us (inc 12yo) bikes and we cycled to nearby lake (not much English spoken but managed to communicate not too badly). Good breakfast with homemade cakes and homegrown strawberries.

I traveled a lot and met a lot of venue owners, but Filomena and Emilkar are the best of the best and I really mean it!!! Stay here is like stay at your dearest relatives. We were treated like best friends. On arrival, Emilkar welcomed us with homemade porto and cookies and make a tour of the building and it looks perfect for any kind of tourists. Filomena was kind to provide free washing and ironing. In the evening we enjoyed a joint dinner, where they treated us with their delicious food. This venue is a must to see and stay, number one for all us in our hotel rating

Featuring a garden, an on-site chapel and an outdoor swimming pool, the Solar dos Almeidas is located in Terrenho, 6.8 miles from Trancoso. The green areas of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park are a 28-minute drive away.

The owners are thoroughly lovely and will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Be prepared to enjoy some port wine! The breakfast is the best we had in Portugal and you cannot leave hungry. All the baked goods and preserves are home made and excellent. If you have the chance, indulge in one dinner at the property. You won't regret it!

Both the dinner and breakfast were superb.and very cheap.It was an interesting place with lots of amenities plus a secure parking area. Trancoso was only a few minutes away. Probably the best value stay on this holiday.
