Amazing old Manor house building, beautifully presented. Great pool with pool toys inc inflatable boat which was fun. Very hospitable hosts - offered port and got pool table into use for us, lent the 3 of us (inc 12yo) bikes and we cycled to nearby lake (not much English spoken but managed to communicate not too badly). Good breakfast with homemade cakes and homegrown strawberries.

The staff were so friendly, its out of the city in a quiet county village overlooking a tranquil lake. The evening meal and breakfast exceeded our expectations with all homemade food. So many facilities available to guests that a few nights stay would be worth while.

I traveled a lot and met a lot of venue owners, but Filomena and Emilkar are the best of the best and I really mean it!!! Stay here is like stay at your dearest relatives. We were treated like best friends. On arrival, Emilkar welcomed us with homemade porto and cookies and make a tour of the building and it looks perfect for any kind of tourists. Filomena was kind to provide free washing and ironing. In the evening we enjoyed a joint dinner, where they treated us with their delicious food. This venue is a must to see and stay, number one for all us in our hotel rating

Featuring a garden, an on-site chapel and an outdoor swimming pool, the Solar dos Almeidas is located in Terrenho, 11 km from Trancoso. The green areas of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park are a 28-minute drive away.

The guest house features accommodation in either triple or double rooms. The rooms feature heating and air conditioning. All include a flat-screen TV, as well as a private bathroom.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and served each morning in the bright meal area. Guests may have a taste of the local cuisine in the Solar’s à la carte restaurant. A bar is also available, where refreshing drinks and cocktails are served. Lunch and dinner is available upon request for an extra cost.

The house features a games room with billiards and darts. A communal lounge, with sofas and a TV is also accessible for guests. Guests are welcome to bring their pets since Solar dos Almeidas features a free kennel.

Mangualde is a 52-minute drive away. Celorico da Beira is 32 km away from the property. The border into neighbouring Spain is 85-minutes away by car. Porto International Airport is a 135-minute drive away from the Solar dos Almeidas.
