PortugalMy friends and I had a very special experience in Train Spot Guesthouse. The location and the style were outstanding. The breakfast was good and all the facilities were accessible. I did enjoy sitting in the living room, listening to the music and getting warm with the fireplace. I highly recommend Train Spot Guesthouse.

PortugalLocation was lovely, in a national park very peaceful, excellent opportunities for getting close to nature, but also within close proximity to two historic walled towns. Breakfast was continental buffet and there was a kitchen which was available to guests to prepare your own food.
United KingdomThis was the second time we stayed here and the owners did an amazing job to restore this old train station. It's a fantastic place to stay and the peace and tranquility around it is very special. To be able to use the kitchen is a bonus as in many places we could not even make a cup of tea or coffee so it was nice to be able to cook a little for a change and make a hot tea on a cold evening in October. The fireplace is great, it makes it a very pleasant stay and we were very happy to be able to use it. We would definitely come back again!

The building has so much character, from the architecture to the common areas like the kitchen, restaurant/lounge and terrace. There are only 7 or 8 rooms, so often we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Preparing our own food in a 130-year old kitchen (with modern appliances) felt like a true timewarp. Staff (speaking in broken English) is very friendly. It's the perfect place to switch off and get transported back in history for a few days. Highly recommended.
