South AfricaThe palace is gorgeous and historic. The location is also perfect. Personally, I felt little things need some attention with the hotel. It is old and it shows a bit - cracked plaster, poorly patched repairs, chips on the window framing, visible water damage, etc. I can appreciate the hotel wanting to keep things original and authentic but for the cost of the rooms they need to keep the little things taken care of. Just seems like little things have been “missed”. Overall a gorgeous hotel with very comfortable beds and beautiful views in every direction!
IrelandExcellent friendly and attentive service. An exquisite building retaining many of its palatial features. Food was also excellent. The location of the hotel is also perfect to access all the main local historical attractions on foot ... if you are looking for an energetic break! Sintra is a UNESCO site and as a result the hotel is on a one-way access route which can give rise to frustrating and sometimes lengthened journey's if using local taxi's.
United KingdomThe palace and grounds were elegant and authentic for the period in which it was built. I liked all of the indoor and outdoor spaces where you could get away to enjoy by yourself or with friends.
