A very well maintained seaside town, even in the suburbs.
A very well maintained seaside town, even in the suburbs. It is obvious that the citizens are satisfied with the municipal government and the parks are full of old people and parents with small children. In summary- LIVING CITY.
But...
Apart from duners and pizzas, there is nothing else to eat on the street. It takes a visit to restaurants, which are always overpriced, in the end.

A port city with a long history; visit the archaeological museum for interesting exhibits and maps. The central old town varies greatly in condition; some of the older buildings are being well maintained, others are gently crumbling. The architecture is an interesting mix of Art Nouveau and Transylvanian, with echoes of the Ottoman presence there.
Many lively cafes and restaurants on Piata Ovidiu. Good fish restaurants down by the leisure port. We liked Camarote for service and value.

Constanţa looks like a city which will be amazing after 2025. Summer of 2023 is not the right time to visit, as the whole city is torn up with buildings and roads being updated at scale.
Great restaurants, and atmosphere. Locals are very friendly and helpful towards tourists. FInding people who speak English is fairly easy in the tourist area, but venture outside of it, and you better be armed with google translate.
Prices are all over the place, you can pay between 5 and 50 for the same thing, so it's really hard to keep track of money. Can pay with card almost everywhere.

It's a small quiet town with nice views.
It's a small quiet town with nice views. It's easy to move around. The authorities take care of streets look neater and newer. However, the beach I visited could have been cleaner. I am not sure of the name of the beach, but it's quiet popular and to reach it you have to go downstairs for a few min.
This town is more suitable for a quiet rest with a family or your spouse. If you are looking for parties or active night life, I believe that Constanţa will not suit you.

Constanta is well worth visiting.
Constanta is well worth visiting. Only about two hours by train from Bucharest, the sea air makes all the difference. The old town is the place to go for restaurants, museums, and for strolls by the sea front. The rest of Constanta is less interesting, though there is a nice park with a lake, an amusement park and a couple of malls in the modern centre. For beaches it is best to head out of town to Costinesti or Vama Veche. The city beaches are nice for a walk out of season, but in the summer they are crowded and dirty.

Constanţa is full of interesting, Roman artifacts and sites,...
Constanţa is full of interesting, Roman artifacts and sites, plus has excellent museums. The local restaurants are varied and good quality, too. The downtown is walkable, with a large square where cars are not allowed. The corniche along the Black Sea is well developed, also. We loved the Byblos (Lebanese) restaurant and a little deli with prepared food behind glass, where we ate on the downtown square.
It was very easy to find the house and talk with the hosts, to pick up the keys. However, this was in Romanian, so I cannot ascertain if they speak English. The house has a small yard. The street is quiet at night, but sometimes the public lighting did not work.
The fridge in the room was very good and kept a cool temperature for the drinks. The AC was in good condition and could be set to 16 Celsius degrees.
The TV has a couple of channels as it's analogue.
Perfect location , just in front in the main beach and also just a 10 minute stroll to the old town . We stayed on the 7th floor and the rooms were v good and very quiet at night . everything worked and the beds were very comfortable. My family loved this hotel and the staff were excellent and helpful . The breakfast had a huge choice plus Soy milk for my daughter . I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Constanta .
Big and clean room. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety - fresh dishes and homemade food. The owners are very polite, making sure all the tourists are having a good time at their hotel. Parking is available inside the hotel courtyard, although there could be a problem during the summer when more tourists are checked in. The balcony is a big plus. We'll choose Hotel Golden Rose again every time we'll come back to Constanta.
The apartment was well-equipped, clean, and spacious. The location was fairly close to the beach, and the area was peaceful. There was a pharmacy and a supermarket just around the corner, and parking was available in front of the villa. Public transportation was conveniently located 100 meters away, with buses going to Mamaia or the Old Town. The value for the price was excellent.
Wow i would say 5 stars! Everything was better than my expectations and the bathroom was amazing! The biggest bathroom i have seen in a hotel and it was with 2 sinks and heated floor. Very good bed and good air condition, this hotel have everything you need. Next time i visit Constanta i would for sure take this hotel, and the price was 67€/night!
Very well designed villa in Constanta old city center. Everything is clean, nice design, espresso machine and champagne. The beach is actually better now in Constanta than in Mamaia and less crowded. Plus, all restaurants and cafes are around the villa. We got a large terrace with a view to Piata Ovidiu.
Location is good, near Mamaia Boulevard, close to the Reyna/3 Papuci beach. Room was well equipped for a "boutique villa" room. The host was nice and we communicated well via messages or on the phone. Also, the price was great, so I recommend it if you want to stay in Constanta on a budget.
Spacious apartment, very well located, close to a lot of attractions and amenities, like grocery stores, shopping mall, beach etc.
Air conditioning, very well needed in the summer in Constanta.
Hot water available, although the entire city faced a hot water shortage due to maintenance.
Everything was great, very clean and spacious room, very comfy bed, location is near everything.
The breakfast is excellent, i think one of the best and diversified i’ve seen in Romania. You can find everything from babyfood to raw vegan.
Lots of parking spaces.
You shouldn’t miss it!
Location is ok, 2 km from the center/train station, there is a bus stop nearby. Facilities also pretty good: private room, shared kitchen and bathroom.
In my room I have found very nice booklets about Romania and Constanța written by the host - worth reading, worth staying here!
convenient to bus and railway station. very clean also quiet . Has a big bath! great after a day of travelling. Ideal for transit stop between destinations. Friendly staff. Really excellent breakfast! nice interior courtyard for eating and relaxing. Was a very nice hotel!
Nice, clean and comfortable appartment, very welcoming host. The neighbourhood can't be called appealing, but the bus stop right near the building is a big plus, as it offers direct means of transport both to the train station and to the nearby Mamaia resort. Thank you!
We always stay in Constanta in this hotel (since the time it was an Accor Ibis managed hotel) for its position above Modern Beach and the sea views... The food in restaurant is simple, not very diversified but correct and tasty, we have enjoyed.
The location of the hotel is perfect in the heart of old town Constanta. The breakfast room was amazing on the 2nd floor of the hotel from where you coud see the sea and the neighborhood.
Sfaff was very helpful and nice.
"The best part" is the price for the room for this time of the year, I mean summer time. Another good one is the free parking in the front of the hotel, even if there is no asphalt and is full of dust. The room is clean.
This was my 5th stay at Hotel Cherica. Comfortable, spotless clean, helpfull and pleasant staff. There is a new opened place for breakfast. Had a great breakfast, fresh fruits, baked goods, great coffee.
The hotel hostess very welcoming and helpful,
In the center of the old town, very close to historical attractions,Beach, promenade, restaurants , shops, etc .
