Spiritul Deltei Guesthouse, located in the center of Sfantu Gheorghe village, offers accomodation in double/triple or family rooms with own bathroom, air conditioning and central heating system. In the lobby there is a fridge, at the tourists disposal. We don't have TV in any room, because we want our guests to come to the delta for the nature, not for watching TV in their rooms. In the villa there is central heating, and, of course, hot water permanently. Access to WiFi is free for our guests of course. Traditional meals can be served in a dining room or at an open terrace. We also have different types of boats for transfer from Mahmudia/Murighiol or for organized trips in the wonderful Danube Delta. For those who wants a quiet tourwe have cayacs for rental. We have a big garden, with a lot of fig trees, flowers and green grace, and also with bigger trees where tourists can hang some hammocks in the shadow. There is also an old house in the courtyard, not in its best shape, which unfortunately we can not put it down yet. The location is recommended to those who loves animals, specially since we also have two very friendly dogs -hungarian viszla

Sfantu Gheorghe is situated in the eastern extremity of the Danube Delta, in the eastern part of Tulcea county. The village is located on the left side of the oldest branch of Danube – St.George, close to where Danube flows into the Black Sea. There is no road access to Sf. Gheorghe. You can only reach the village by boat. The village Sfantu Gheorghe was mentioned for the first time in historical documents in the 14th century, on a map, included among the economic centers of the Dobrogea territory. There are not many written sources concerning the history of this village, but old inhabitants tell that the village was formed partially of refugees from Russia and Ukraine (around 1735), who decided to remain there because of the beauty and the rich fishing. The present population call themselves “haholi”, and they are orthodox Christian of the old style. Today the village is inhabited by 971 people that live in 358 dwellings and they have preserved both their traditions and their Ukrainian language. Over the last twenty years, the economy of Sf. Gheorghe has gradually moved from an economy based primary on fishing to an economy heavily dependent on tourism.
