An extraordinary place. We were sailing through St Helena and wanted to get off the boat and explore this remote beautiful island. During a 2 month voyage, this stay was the highlight. The hosts (Derrick and Linda) are possibly the most welcoming and friendly people I’ve met as I travel around the world. They are native saints, completely knowledgeable about everything on the island, and willing to help in any way. Breakfast lunch and dinner were over the top fantastic…I may consider returning to this remote place for a family vacation…there’s no other place to stay on the island nearly as nice and welcoming.

I honestly loved my stay here and much due to all that these two people did for me. Not just me, to all others they are in contact with. They are happy and it shows. They share as I see is the island way. I just left today and feel sad I’m gone. I did not take photos of my room or bathroom. it is super comfortable and a fully furnished self contained bedroom/bathroom with a view to die for. And the food they serve is out of this world from breakfast to lunch and dinner. Won’t be there? Don’t worry, Linda will make you a delicious sandwich and brownie.
AustraliaLinda and Derek were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible (fetching and dropping us at the airport; arranging tours; cooking; etc.). The breakfast was very tasty and the views breathtaking! Linda's fishcakes are the best on St. Helena!
NetherlandsLynda and Derek goes the extra mile, and beyond, to make your stay comfortable and interesting. Lynda is an excellent cook, and Derek can help you arrange excursions and will drive you all over the island. They only rent out two rooms, so you will feel like part of the family.

- Does a bus or taxi come past Richard's Travelodge to take you into Jamestown and to the attractions?Richards Travel Lodge is on the public Transport (Bus) route. The service will get you into Jamestown and many of the main attractions. Taxis are also very cheap and depending on travel times the owners can offer a free trip into Jamestown.Answered on 22 December 2022
