I loved the location. It was at the edge of a little village and surrounded by vineyards. It sits on a slight hill, and the view of the valley and distant hills is lovely. We arrived for Sunday lunch, which is the main meal of the day. We were there on a nice day in October. We ate out in an entry garden area that was very pleasant. The food was amazing. Delicious gourmet offerings that were well prepared and presented. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The hosts were nice and flexible, the apartment was practically new, it was superbly clean and remarkably well equipped. We were looking for a rather remote location, and it was in a very-very nice surrounding (at the cost of having to buy everything we needed beforehand, which was expected, so no issues there).

Vipava is a very picturesque town with interesting history, countryside and views. There are many good winemakers in the Vipava valley (e.g. Poljšak). You can easily hike or bike around. There are couple gourmet restaurants (we tried only Krhne and it was great). You can easily get to the sea, karst caves, Lipica or mountains from there.

Perfect stop in rooms hosted by vineyard owners - simple, pleasantly fitted out rooms in rustic, old buildings in tranquil village surrounded by vineyards. We booked the wine tasting session for the evening which included a platter of food which was plenty on a hot evening - highly recommended. Breakfast was laid out with full range of freshly prepared produce including jams, cheeses, cold meats, yoghurt and fruits, with eggs cooked to order.

I love the Vipava valley.
I love the Vipava valley. The towns are charming, the scenery is amazing and there are a lot of great hiking trails all over the area. It's unbelievable how many really great restaurants there are in a small area. I've been there three times and will certainly go back!

Vipava is a small town.
Vipava is a small town. Good to stay here if you want to visit the valley and attractions in the area (eg Predjama castle, Postojna caves about 30 Min drive) and other surrounding towns. Vipana itself is a little bit dormant.

We had a wonderful couple of days in Vipava.
We had a wonderful couple of days in Vipava. Everyone we met was so welcoming and knowledgable on the local produce and wine.
We stayed in a local guest house Marjeria and we would highly recommend staying there. The rooms are simple but beautiful and would recommend dining there on one of your nights stay.
We stayed here at the end of our trip and were taking it easy. However, we did get out and about of one of the days for a hike be warned they are tough but rewarding.

I was only there for 2 nights to do some wine tours. The weather didn’t cooperate, but found the wines amazing (if you can tolerate more acidic wines), wine tours and owners to be genuine and appreciative of the attention, and locals to be the same.
Stayed at Apartment Thomas in Vipava, a small village near several wineries. Took a wine tour with Wajdusna which was supposed to be a bike tour, but the rain wouldn’t stop. The owner had a van and we went from there. Both companies made this trip easy.
