Kranjska Gora is a popular ski resort located at the edge of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. The town serves as an excellent base for hiking, offering numerous walking trails that cater to varying levels of difficulty. This means that everyone should be able to find a suitable route based on their abilities and preferences. For those who may not be keen on intense mountain hiking, there are several picturesque valleys nearby that provide breathtaking views without being overly strenuous. Some of the most beautiful valleys around Kranjska Gora include the Krnica Valley, Planica Valley, Krma Valley, and Vrata Valley. The most significant landmarks nearby are Zelenci Natural Spring, Planica ski jump and Peričnik Waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Slovenia, as well as the Martuljek Waterfalls. Another stunning location near Kranjska Gora is Vršič Pass, which sits at an elevation of 1,611 meters and can be easily accessed by car. In winter, Kranjska Gora transforms into a charming Alpine village, featuring colourful decorations and a market in the square in front of the church, and the ski slopes welcome winter sports enthusiasts.
