Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends. The old town and Castle are easy to get around. We hired a bike and went across the river where you can cycle the Danube all the way to Germany if you choose. Food was lovely and all delicacies were covered. There are some fantastic shopping centers just off old town with all the brands you'd expect plus some Slovakian ones. Bratislava is definitely a must see.

A Memorable Journey in Bratislava: Embracing Culture and Spirituality
My first venture into Bratislava, Eastern Europe, as a woman of African descent, was met with both excitement and uncertainty. However, the city's warm hospitality exceeded my expectations, enveloping me in kindness throughout my stay.
Bratislava's old town, with its cobblestone streets and historic landmarks like the enchanting Blue Church, offered a captivating glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, MonDieu café became a cherished retreat, fostering moments of reflection and connection.
Exploring the city's vibrant culture, I was captivated by the soul-stirring melodies of folk music and the bustling atmosphere of outdoor grill places. Yet, it was the genuine warmth of the locals, from hotel staff to taxi drivers, that truly made Bratislava feel like home.
Despite the long train journey from Geneva, Switzerland, every moment in Bratislava was filled with wonder and delight. Moreover, my experience was deepened by attending the Festival ZIVOTA, led by Pastor Adeboye. His profound words and the collective worship experience reminded me of the universality of faith and the beauty of communal worship.
The Festival ZIVOTA not only enriched my spiritual journey but also served as a powerful reminder of the bonds shared among believers, transcending cultural differences. Bratislava's charm, coupled with the spiritual nourishment of the festival, left an enduring impression on my heart, making it a destination I wholeheartedly recommend.

Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do.
Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do. We visited the transport museum, Bratislava castle, Blue Church, Botanical Gardens and many others. It is so easy to get around the city as transport is exceptional and inexpensive. Lots of bars and cafes offering everything you need or want. I loved it and would love to return

I went to Bratislava for the food, and I was not disappointed.
Unfortunately I chose a holiday period, so many shops were closed and I couldn't stroll around if not for sightseeing, which is highly recommended, and food, again highly recommended.
The botanic garden, the Devin Castle, and the very small pharmacy museum, were the highlight of my experience, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful city.
Another suggestion is to buy the public transportation ticket for tourists, since it is the best way to move around.

We attended a performance at the Slovak National Theatre, leaving from Vienna and returning the next day. A quick mid-week trip and overnight.
First, the performance was top-notch and was a highlight. But we really appreciated the size of Bratislava. We walked and strolled everywhere, enjoyed some interesting shopping and had a wide choice of places to eat (including traditional Slovakian food, but also Mexican tapas or Thai food).
We've already done the basic bus tour, which is recommended. You see the town, hear a history, and visit the castle.
Our next trip will include some of the special events: particularly wine-tasting or beer-tasting.
Bratislava has a good mix of cultural options, interesting restaurants, and a beautiful downtown. Prices (compared to Vienna, for example) make this a bargain.

Bratislava is a simple, clean and organized city.
Bratislava is a simple, clean and organized city. Ideal for the tourist that wants a nice and relaxed vacation, but also not a boring one. Prices are also reasonable as long as one avoids tourist traps.
The Arcadia Boutique Hotel in Bratislava was really fabulous. Right on the edge of the old town, at the back on the Central Post Office. Inside its magnificent. Rooms are fabulous, Loved the complimentary water and another bottle of it when asked got for free. Masks inside were still mandatory, but staff did not harass me, when I was forgetting to put it on on the way in or on the way out. I asked for a room on a quiet side of the hotel, also where I could open the window for a fresh air. They eventually were able to satisfy this request.
The staff were very professional and informative. The room was clean and spacious. For business travelers the internet was fantastic. I liked that my room was an apartment with a kitchen, dining area, living room, and bedroom. The breakfast was also great with a lot of options. A small note but the breakfast staff in particular were very helpful. They gave me trays to take up a plate and some coffee. The hotel is a short walk from the main square and all the sights within Bratislava’s Old Town.
Excellent hotel, very friendly staff, with clean and comfortabble room, we had everything we needed. The breakfast was exceptional! Location more than good - in a quiet place, just 7 minutes on foot to the old town and at a 5 min distance to Bratislava castle. Plus, there is a public transportation stop right in front of the hotel.
I highly recommend Falkensteiner Hotel for both short and long stay, and I will definately choose it again for my next visit to beatuful Bratislava.
This was a great stay in a convenient location!
Located a 10-minute walk from the old town, the Falkensteiner Bratislava is a very well-equipped and comfortable hotel, with a great gym and spa.
Andrei, the front desk manager, was incredibly hospitable and pleasant, giving us great recommendations and a surprise for our honeymoon.
I left my headphones behind, and the front desk were very quick to respond and ship them back to me.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large, clean and functional. The shower worked well; the shower doors kept the water in the shower, not allowing it onto the bathroom floor.
The hotel has an outdoor patio, which I liked very much.
The breakfast, although pricey, included a wide variety of foods.
The staff was very nice and offered me all the supplies I asked for.
The hotel is well-located, close the Bratislava Castle and Old Town.
Perfect location - Bratislava old town is relatively small - and this hotel is literally within 15 minutes’ walk from any of the main attractions within old town. We could literally see all the main buildings - the castle, the main church, town hall etc from our window.
Staff - all spoke perfect English, friendly and efficient
Facilities - our room was super spacious, clean and the bed was really comfy.
Very local to all the sites and the old town. It's very basic but it's functional. Ok for a place to lay your head at night.
Breakfast was in a little cafe around the corner. Staff were great in the cafe. Breakfast was the same most mornings.
Room was very clean with plenty of towels and stuff.
Reception was in a hotel around the corner with friendly staff.
The hotel is very nice and well located very close to Bratislava old town. The restaurant of the hotel is very lively and with very good quality food. It is a brewery much appreciated by the locals not staying in the hotel also so when staying for work is very convenient and much better than the typical "room service"
Perfect for me.
Visiting friends in Petrzalka, so ideal location and decent facilities, at a very good price (compared to downtown Bratislava).
Excellent bus and tram network easily accessible from the hotel, with links to old town, main station and the airport (requires 1 change).
Nice View from our room (we could see St. Martens cathedral), the hotel is located perfectly only 5 walking minutes away from the old town/Bratislava centre.
The room was clean and breakfast was okay.
The hotel staff was friendly and check out is very conveniently at 12:00.
the flat was perfect. spacious, cosy, large rooms.. realy the appartment had everything we needed. on top the location is perfect, close to the city centre.. and a bonus in form of garage parking made it the perfect place to stay in Bratislava.
Really good option to stay in Bratislava! it's on the edge of Turistic old town, so it's super close to everything you will need! The hotel itself just great! Very clean, stuff is friendly and helpful and the room itself very comfy and nice.
We got a nice, big, clean and quiet room. The staff at the reception was very friendly. The hotel is located in the city center (so everything was in walking distance). A good place to stay for exploring the old town of Bratislava.
The hotel is located close to the Bus Terminal (MOST SNP) and to the old town of Bratislava (perfectly for a weekend trip). The Saunas in the SPA area are nice. The breakfast had a good selection. The personnel were friendly.
Lovely hotel for a short stay in Bratislava. Very clean and comfortable. It was close to the city centre, airport and the train station. I would happily stay here again if visiting Bratislava.
Best city hotel in Bratislava! Everything was very clean, room was beautiful, air conditioning was working and very quiet. Perfectly situated close to the old town but still reachable by car.
