The beach itself isn't all that great, but it is the closest beach to Bangkok when heading west (then south). The area, however, is fantastic for birdwatchers, and/or those who enjoy fresh seafood.

The resort is next to the sea, so the view was nice. The pool was okay and clean except the the outside showers which had vines growing and touching your hair and body. Breakfast is good although there was less choice when the hotel had only a few visitors. There are beach bars and restaurants within walking distance and the restaurant in the hotel is also good. Hotel is nice, clean and friendly staff. The restaurant offered good food. Internet worked great. The staff accommodated us when we needed to extend our stay and helped us in getting transportation from the hotel to Bangkok.
