The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.
Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.
If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.
Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.
During my stay in Istanbul, I was impressed by the warmth...
During my stay in Istanbul, I was impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the people, especially in restaurants and shopping areas. I have many good memories from my time in the city. However, my experience at the airport was quite the opposite. The staff there were uncooperative, which contrasted sharply with the positive interactions I had elsewhere. I was surprised to encounter such behavior at such a large and well-known airport. Unfortunately, it left a lasting negative impression. It’s disappointing to have to share this, but it was my experience.

Look out for scams, even though the city has become more...
Look out for scams, even though the city has become more expensive there are still very good deals out there.
Don’t miss the Asian side, take the ferry from Eminonu to Kadikoy and walk to the Moda seaside when you reach Kadikoy.
Try the San Sebastián cheesecake next to Galata tower.
If you have time, go to the Princes islands from Eminonu/Kabastas. The ferry across the Bosporous will take around 1h 45m.
The grand bazaar prices are quite high, right outside of the exit there will be another street market which has the same items with reasonable prices.
If you are wanting to treat yourself to a nice lunch/dinner then go to Galataport. There are many upscale restaurants with a beautiful view of the Bosporous.
Try the tram and the public ferry instead of taking taxis everywhere. You can buy an Istanbul Kart to use the public transport. This can be bought at the stations where there will be machines.

As everyone talks based on their own experiences, so I do.
As everyone talks based on their own experiences, so I do.
Since good things do not harm us, I will tell you a little about the dangers based on my own experiences so that you can be careful.
Experience the goodness yourself if you travel to Istanbul.
Unfortunately, I visited Istanbul more than once because of my job, and I say:
Istanbul is very, very beautiful but visiting for one time is good but not more because there are many more places to visit, even more, cheaper and much more beautiful.
It would be best not to visit it alone; it would be safer with some friends or travel company.
Taxi drivers cheating you is very common. Public services are much better, cheaper and safer.
Finding trustworthy people is challenging.
Don't be shy; be serious with everybody. Otherwise, somebody will eat you.
Everywhere, they will be looking at you as bait.
Everywhere, people ask you where you are from to deal with you based on their understanding of the people's nationality, ethnicity, and religion due to their own experiences.
You will find almost every fake thing everywhere, so you must be an expert in shopping.
Most of the shopkeepers are big liars.
Museum tickets are very, very costly.

The city has lots to do, many attractions and amazing places to shop! If you like to bargain at shops and get great deals, this is the place for you. You'll find anything and everything you need at the Bazaars. People are great and so is the food. Many of the attractions in the European area are all within walking distance such as grand Bazaar, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, and Basilica Cistern.

Not my preferred holiday but thats my personal preference.
Not my preferred holiday but thats my personal preference. Had too high expectations for the food and experiences and was left disappointed. Being a South African, we are spoilt with a variety of flavourful food and amazing produce from different cultures, but in Istanbul most times we were searching for just salt and pepper. The people aren't that friendly here and always looking to overcharge tourists. Things are costly in Istanbul and not what I expected at all. The night cruise is a complete waste in my opinion and the food was nasty, eating the fruits was the highlight and we booked with the best tour based on reviews, the entertainment was bland. Rather do the day cruise without meals. The second leg of our trip, we flew into Dalaman, hired a car and driving down the west coast staying in Fethiye, Kas and Anatalya. This is amazing and has completely flipped our Turkey trip into an amazing holiday. The sights, experiences and people are amazing on this side of Turkey. Last leg is Cappadocia, hoping for that to be as amazing as the second leg of our trip.

This is more of a lament rather then a review.
This is more of a lament rather then a review. We visited Istanbul 13 years ago and it was so much better than it is now. The popular tourist sites are mobbed. Buy etickets aheaof time and go early is my advice.
Nothing, because all the negative experiences ruined my experience of visiting Istanbul, I will never stay here again. Also, don't book any excursions with the hotel, they pocket huge amounts of the profits.. For Bosphorus boat tour they tried charging me an extortionate 500 USD per person at first for booking through the hotel. Being a tourist from the UK, they try to sell the best boats Istanbul has to offer to you, but in reality you'll get a boat worth 10 euros at the maximum. Be careful of these deceitful tactics!
The hotel and staff were great; very good location and walking distance to Taksim Square, taksim metro, istiklal Street and all the restaurants, banks and anything one may need.
The hotel itself is a very cute and modern place, newly renovated with clean fittings and interiors. Burak at the reception was always there to help with taxi bookings, other info about the city and always prompt on WhatsApp. Must stay in Istanbul. We are coming here again soon!
Absolutely one of the best hotels to stay in Istanbul. Very clean room, friendly staff, tasty breakfasts with good coffee on terrace on top of the hotel. Great location.
They even offered us an umbrella on the day it was supposed to rain. Our taxi for airport we booked with Booking.com didn't arrive, and the hotel staff helped us with the taxi. We almost missed the plane because of booking.com and the hotel helped us.
1. Comfortable transfer from the airport to the hotel and back. The journey time is just under 10 minutes.
2. Excellent restaurant onsite, which is open until 00:00.
3. Rooms are clean and spacious.
4. Very friendly staff, comparable to 5 star hotels.
5. Would definitely recommend to other Istanbul transiters/visitors.
