We prefer non-generic boutique hotels with responsive personal service, large and comfortable rooms with topnotch amenities, charm and atmosphere. Hotel Eclat exceeded our expectations on every one of these counts. We loved the quirky decor; the large high-ceilinged room with high-tech controls; the exceptionally comfortable bed, pillows and linens; the happy hour discount on drinks in the marvelous bar; and, at least as importantly, the service. We needed an English-speaking private driver to tour four of us from Taipei to Shifen, Pingxi and Joufen and then return us to our cruise ship in Keelung. Between our checkin and bedtime, the front desk had arranged it all. We could not have been happier.

I like the size of the hotel, a boutique hotel with nicely decorated lobby, just short walk to the front desk and the elevators. Rooms are decorated with interesting, modern furniture. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful.

I liked the amazing original artwork everywhere, floor to ceiling. The very courteous staff and the room was excellent! The location was close to many main tourist spots and the neighborhood has good restaurants and shops. More of a smaller boutique feel, it’s a refreshing change from the normal hotels. Good value!
