Delicious breakfast served on the private terrace on 1st floor. Varied, tasty and definitely enough. We booked a room on the ground floor, but owner Issa gave us a free upgrade to a room with terrace & VIEW on the first floor. Very big room with fan, big bed with mosquito net. Large, airy terrace with superb views of the turquoise sea. On top of that, there is a kitchen with fridge on the ground floor free for use. Location 10 thanks to the views (and the nearby Italian beach bar/restaurant - oddly called Peter Pan). Issa arranged cheap taxi rides for us from and to Stone Town, with a stopover at Jozani Park. Perfect! We would definitely stay here again.

The location and view of the ocean from our balcony plus also being able to watch and listen to village life. The room was very spacious, clean and good value. Staff were very friendly and service was great. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful with fresh juice, fruits, bread, eggs and coffee. There are a few good restaurants very close by as well such as Peter pan and Yellow Card and a couple of convenience stores for water and snacks.

We had a great time at Amka house. The location was walking distance to the Jambiani beach. We stayed four nights but wished we could stay longer. The breakfast was good with choice of omelet and seasonal fruits. The room was nice on the 2nd floor with sea view. There was large balcony to relax after swimming etc.

A great stay at Amka House. What a pleasure to have discovered this world, so different from ours. We are, at Issa, in authenticity. Everything was perfect. Issa was constantly listening to us and his entire team.
