We four booked 2 double rooms with private bathrooms and stayed here from 26-28th June 2023. The location is excellent. Also, the environment is too calm and without any disturbance. All the places of interest (e. g. Ferry, Sea Beach, Forodhani, Peoples Museum, Old Fort, Old Slave market, Lukmaan restaurant, fish and vegetable markets, etc.), are within walking distance. During walking through the lanes from the hotel, you will get famous door frames, shops, food stalls, painting shops, and old unchanged houses. I am sure if you look at the stone walls, you will get lots of coral fossils in them.

Great location and amenities but the biggest highlight was the staff. They were so helpful and accommodating with all of my questions and really helped me situate myself in Stone Town. Be aware that there are adorable cats that hangout in common spaces if you have allergies and there are also stairs to get to the rooms to be mindful of if you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues. Overall, highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

It was exactly what we were looking for....I don't need a Hilton, you don't visit Zanzibar to stay in your room. Rooms were clean, furnished adequately, comfy beds, climate controlled. It was a great value, and the staff were very helpful and accomodating---No hassle at all when we actually cancelled one of our 3 rooms on our arrival day. Shared baths and showers, but it's not like they were busy. Plenty of privacy, the toilets and showers all lock, clean facilities and hot water! And the free WIFI worked fine for us, which I guess is a big deal, as it was our only means of communicating back home

This hostel is a great value, located right in the center of Stone Town. It is priced reasonably and is clean. Simone is a wealth of knowledge regarding things to do and see in the area and was extremely helpful throughout. I look forward to coming back!
