Lviv has so much cultural heritage that words hardly do it justice. It was under Polish, Habsburg and Soviet rule before rejoining Ukraine, and all have left dramatic marks. No fewer than 5 cathedrals grace cobbled streets with attractive parks and elegant buildings worthy of Vienna.
Potocki Palace is a grand former nobleman’s home and the Palace of Siemienski-Lewickis is equally impressive. Kornyakt Palace is a Renaissance jewel that became a royal residence, and the Ensemble of Ruska Street is an eclectic collection of buildings contributing to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre.
Lviv University is Ukraine’s oldest and was part of an intellectual circle attracting immigrants which earned the city the nickname of ‘Little Paris’. Shevchenka Avenue is named after Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and a statue of him sits on a square housing the celebrated Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet and Lviv National Museum.
The town hall on Market Square is surrounded by colourful buildings housing shops and cafes, and the castle ruins overlook all of this from High Castle Park.
This is just a snapshot of what the city offers and Booking.com’s great accommodation range helps you discover this and more. The luxury city centre hotels, cheap hostels and apartments near Arena Lviv Euro 2012 football stadium are all easily accessible from the airport.
Lviv is simply breathtaking! It's because the mixage of beautiful Hapsburg style architecture, the wide city centre, the old armory, castle hill, cemetery of astonishing beauty combined with so many charming places serving really good food and drinks is so well balanced it's almost miraculous.
It is unbelievable to find so much optimism and strength in this city in a country in war. This fact, which can't be considered unnoticeable, is something that both raised my respect for the city inhabitants as well as strengthened my desire to return soon in spring.
Arnold would say: "I'll be back" and so do I!!

Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The restaurants and shopping remind you of Paris. It is completely safe and it should be on a must see list. Catch a performance at the opera house if you can; it is a magnificent building.

So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine.
So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine. It has a bit of a Central European feel - like you are in Austria or Poland. Not surprising as it has been part of both countries in the past.
It has a well-developed coffee culture and a number of very nice Cafes. I tried "MOMENT Lviv" and "SLOW Coffee" for the first time. Other favorite cafe/restaurant picks are Mon Chef (at the Hotel Astoria), Steak House, Cinema Jazz, Veronika, Faust, and the Leo Cafe at the Leopolis Hotel.
No visit to Lviv is complete without a trip to Rynok Square. I recommend Coffee Mine and Lviv Handmade Chocolates for coffee and chocolate respectively, both for purchase and as cafes.
My girlfriend and I both like Thai Massage, and we tried Lilawadee Thai Massage at Svobody Ave, 22 in the Center. The massage was good, pricing was transparent (you got what you paid for) and there was one person on site with good English, although my partner is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Slovak so she translated for me. The one thing would have liked was to be in the same room for our couples massage, which wasn't possible here, but no other issues.
Outside of town - maybe at 45 minute to 60 minute drive, is the EDEM resort. It has a pool, massage services, baths of varying temperatures, an art gallery and a very good restaurant. They also have a hotel but this is jsut a day trip for me when I go. It is VERY relaxing, but there are also activities there also, such as golf, etc. It's expensive, but also very luxurious.

I think Lviv is the coolest little city in Europe.
I think Lviv is the coolest little city in Europe. The buildings are beautiful and historic, many monuments were covered to protect them but this did not matter. Plenty of wonderful statues to see.
Great affordable coffee and beer abound Churches everywhere, St Andrews is my favourite.
I would recommend a language app to ease travel.

Lviv is a beautiful city that reminds me of Vienna.
Lviv is a beautiful city that reminds me of Vienna. Don't need a car walking distance to all sites and taxis are very reasonable. The musicians on the streets and parks are fantastic. Since I'm from New Jersey, I could not draw myself away from a performer who sounded exactly like Bruce Springsteen with his electric guitar. A definite Must Visit City!

The best vibe I found in a Ukrainian city, not to take away...
The best vibe I found in a Ukrainian city, not to take away from the others. L'viv is just special.
Walking along the park in Prospect Svobody, at all times of day, is just a breath of life. The streets in the center are also cozy and lively.
Most people speak ukrainian, young people also regularly wear traditional clothes.
In two days you can see everything. One day for the most important things, and the atmosphere.
This boutique hotel is in a great location. They have a fireplace they will light in the evenings on request. The hotel is clean and very well maintained. The staff are amazing and they have a hotel driver who is excellent for day trips. Staying in this hotel over Christmas made amazing memories for our family. The Christmas markets were literally outside the door of the hotel. Food options were limitless within a very short distance of the hotel. Lastly, my thoughts are with the wonderful people of Ukraine as they face these troubling times.
This hotel is extraordinary. Small and intimate yet large enough to provide all the high end amenities. Beautiful location in the heart of Lviv. Fine dining in hotel and nearby. Extremely helpful and attentive staff.
Exemplary demonstration of legendary Ukrainian hospitality.
Property is very fresh and very new. High marks to Best Western for investing in Ukraine during war time. Not taken for granted by this international traveler and speaks volumes for its corporate decision-making.
This is our second stay at the hotel. It works well for our needs as we have a lot of work meetings and like to have dinner at the hotel after a long day. The restaurant food is great. The staff takes some time to warm up but service is good. They don’t take Amex so that is always an issue. This is by no means a luxury hotel. I was told it was built for the Lviv soccer teams to stay in. They were there during our visit. Very polite!
it was in the middle of the city centre in a strategic location for me to perform my work .
for a hostel during a war there’s nothing to complain about I did not travel for leisure I are am bloody tourists but went to Ukraine for a purpose and all I required is a place to sleep during my stay in lviv simple as that.it’s not as comfortable as a safe house but better than the barracks
Great location. Opera House on the next block, Rynok Square 5 minute walk away. Appointed like a 4 star, not a 3 star, service like a 5 star. Very good breakfast buffet, excellent food from the restaurant. Excellent value for money. I would recommend to anyone. Word of note, it's a small hotel, but many steps, if elderly or invalid ask for lower floor as there is no lift.
The hotel staff was really helpful and friendly. The location is not the bad and it took me 30 min by walk from the railway station to get there. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Because of the Ukraines war most of the hotel was full booked in Lviv and i was lucky to book the room last minute. Overall i enjoyed my stay here.
Located in the centre of the city, this hotel offers great facilities, especially for young travellers. Being 1-2 minutes away from the most important points of the city, the hotel staff's good command of English is a very rare feature for Ukraine. We were very satisfied. thanks for everything.
I’ve been coming to Ukraine helping with the war effort for a year and Central Hotel is always my base camp. It’s not a “hotel room”. It’s a studio apartment with a huge living space, kitchen with dishes and a fridge, and a full bathroom. The staff are so nice. It’s like a family environment.
Food was very delicous and its presentation was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is just near the Lychakiv Cemetary. You can also walk to the. Shechekivskyi Hai Park Museum easily. We were satisfied with our stay and we would like to stay here again if we come back to Lviv.
It's cheaper than most of the hotels and it has private parking which was essential for me. Also, there's a fridge so you can keep there some sandwiches.
We tried SPA and it was a nice experience, quite relaxing. Location is ok as it takes 15 min drive to city center or 40 min of walk.
Gorgeous, new and modern hotel. One of the best hotels in Ukraine, that placed in nature on the lake. Hotel include a very good restaurant, that serve fantastic breakfast and dinner. We had amazing time in very clean and beautiful SPA, especially we were surprised by staff there.
Location, edge of
Old city, ok breakfast, good WiFi, good value, nice big room, friendly helpful staff - unusual for Ukraine- some English spoken too. Aircon in room appreciated
Very handy as it is above the bus station.
