WARNING: If you have car trouble (hit a curb damaged two tires and then some), as we did, just know that it is not easy to get an Uber or any other car service in town, as there is a $10 fee to enter the island, which we didn't know about until we drove in, and some car service drivers are not willing to pay the fee to pick you up. Some may even ask you to cover that fee or add it to their tip. It is not impossible to get a car service, but it is not as easy as you may be accustomed to from a major city and you may have to wait, so especially if you are there over the weekend, as we were, be sure to make arrangements as soon as possible, as many car shops in the area might be closed on Sundays. We ended up having to extend our stay in nearby Brunswick at the Embassy Suites until we could get our car situation sorted out, which was another awesome hotel to stay in anyway, so overall, it could have been much worse.
Jekyll Island is a great place to visit. It is a beautiful island for a relaxing weekend. Be sure to visit Driftwood Beach; it is stunning. Also visit the Jekyll Island Club Resort and the Westin while you're there, unless you're already staying at either location, of course. Plan to have a meal at the Jekyll Island Club Resort Restaurant, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. We hope you can share our optimistic spirit and despite any adversity you may encounter, as we did during this trip, you can be grateful it wasn't worse and continue on your merry way... ;0P

We were interested in the history of the island and found the trolley tour to be very informative. As we were there in the fall the island was not full of visitors and the weather was perfect! No trouble easily navigating the island and lovely walks on the beach! Dinner at the Driftwood Bistro was convenient and moderately priced. The stuffed collard greens were delicious.

As a long time visitor, I can tell you that Jekyll Island is still a beautiful place to go to if you want to relax and get away but it’s now in danger of becoming another over-developed tourist destination. The Jekyll Island Authority needs to impose a moratorium on new development before the place becomes just another overcrowded island. Once Jekyll Island loses its charm, it’s gone.

The beach at Jekyll and the atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful - ideal for walking, hiking , biking and generally being in a place of nature. Do not miss Driftwood Beach.
We had dinner at Driftwood Restaurant and lunch at Zachary's - both were great choices.
We toured the Jekyll Island Club and will definitely stay there at some point. It would make a wonderful holiday destination. The history of the club and the island in general is quite interesting.

I loved being close Beach Village Dr, it had great shops and a nice pub to eat at. Also, I enjoyed the public access to restaurants in other hotels like the Westin. The Golden Isles welcome book was full of history, resources and recommendations to visit on the island.

I would suggest going to Driftwood Beach first.
I would suggest going to Driftwood Beach first. It is amazing. It's like walking through a museum, almost. This isn't just driftwood pieces, it's TREES. in those trees live all kinds of miniature shell life. I wish I had more time to spend there. Beach Club restaurant has the absolute best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Period. Eat there.Take a carriage ride thru the historic district. Get BBQ at the Love Shack INSIDE Jekyll Market. You eat outside and the birds like to share.the market has food to eat, market items to buy, and great gifts. Zachary's and the Wharf have good evening views. And the island people and places are truly pet friendly - be nice and keep your fur baby leashed though. Beaches are pristine. Family friendly, not for party goers. Also a great place to hold private events like company picnics and weddings. Rent a bike, or a golf cart, use your car or just walk the trails.
Breakfast was wonderful, we loved dining in the Grand Dining Room.
The property is truly amazing and should be a must see for everyone. It was on our Bucket List and it did not disappoint. The resort offers so much to do and is so fun we really did not want to leave. We took the hotel tour, rode bicycles throughout the property and laid by the pool ordering drinks from the bar and the not to be missed chicken sandwich. We meandered through the shops and watched the wildlife. The setting is absolutely Idealic.
Clean room. The staff was very friendly and very responsive when we needed help at the hotel and with all our inquires about the island. We loved that it is beachfront with access to the beach and the location of the hotel. We would stay again The common areas were also kept clean We also liked that they have 2 pool areas a volleyball net and areas for families to play together
The staff here is amazing! Value is very affordable yet they treat you like you're staying at an expensive resort. Champagne is served in the lobby every night starting at 5:30. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool is beautiful. It runs along the oceanfront and you can walk or ride your bike to Town Center on the well paved sidewalks along the beachfront. Highly recommend!
The breakfast was ok - as best as it can be with this pandemic.
The location is excellent.
The size of the room was awful - I've never stayed in such a small room - considered changing hotels seriously because it was so small.
We had several spiders - ugh.
Cleanliness was pretty good.
This hotel has a lot of things going for it but the room being so small made it miserable.
Room was comfortable but not the bed, the mattress was so lumpy and real uncomfortable. Beach was nice, but the water was very dirty, beyond explanation dirty! The hotel's beach area itself was clean and nice but of course, not the water... This is a good beach for walking, riding horses, bike riding, and enjoying the sunrise/sunset..... NOT AT ALL
a swimming beach.
The location was very good and close to all that Jekyll Island has to offer. The island is pretty self-contained. The room (119) was spacious and the bed although very low to the floor slept well. The window blinds were a nice touch. They were modern and installed correctly.
Everything was great! My room was nice and clean with a full view of the beach. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. I would recommend the Westin on Jekyll Island to anyone looking for paradise in Georgia.
I really enjoyed the beach access, hotel amenities, and the staff. Food was good, drinks were made well, and the bike rentals were enjoyable. The room was very clean and we were very comfortable.
the serenity and the staff was so nice.
this hotel is in the middle of the nature, you can enjoy the sea view, to stay at the pool or drink a glass around the fire pit. it was a perfect stay.
The location is fantastic with the Park and the Warf restaurant in front of the hotel. Nice pool, Bike shop close to hotel. The Pantry is good for small snack. Bar well managed.
This hotel was amazing. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the pool and hot tub were clean and wonderful, and the room was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is excellent for the price. Great amenities like the hotel bar and pool. The staff was absolutely amazing and couldn't have been more friendly.
