Fabulous historic property on the battery. Filled with antiques, natural light, and charm. Sit on the magnificent front porch sipping tea or a glass of wine looking out over the garden of live oaks and beyond that the harbor. This is a truly special place, and I will stay here again next time I visit Charleston.

  • Is the Deluxe Suite located in the main house or the carriage house?
    The Deluxe Suites are located on the ground level of the Carriage House overlooking the Courtyard leading back into our private garden.

    We are located in a residential area in the historic district, on the tip of the peninsula right across from White Point Gardens. A very secure area! Street parking is located directly in front of our Inn and is safe.

  • Hi we have two small labradoodles who are house trained and non shedding. Is it possible to bring them with us for one night?
    Hi There! Thank you for your inquiry and considering us here at 20 South Battery. We have 2 rooms on property that are pet friendly, but we do have a 15lb weight limit for pets.

    20 South Battery was built in 1843. There have been several notable residents over the years! The Charleston Preservation Society was founded in our very ballroom, the oldest locally founded in the United States!

20 South Battery is Charleston's premier Bed and Breakfast. Newly remodeled from top to bottom, we strive to make your visit to our Inn an experience you will never forget. We offer a sumptuous European Breakfast in the Mansion's Library to get your day started and an indulgent wine and cheese Reception in the Mansion's Ballroom to top off your busy day of touring and shopping.
