Bowers House was a great find. It is on a quiet street just three blocks from Davis Square, which has a bunch of great restaurants and a Red Line T stop with fast service to Harvard Sq., MIT, and downtown Boston. It also has the start of the Minuteman Trail, a charming walk/run/bike greenway that goes on for miles, all the way to Concord, MA -- great if you like to run a few miles every day, as I do. Prices are reasonable: we paid under $200/night, a bargain especially with free parking, which is a huge benefit if you came to Boston by car as we did (you don't really need a car in the Boston area otherwise). The owners are very nice and the breakfast was simple but nutritious (fruit, yogurt, cereal).

Bowers House is a contemporary style, newly renovated, bed and breakfast. We offer free parking, private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, 32" LCD TV with HD channels, rooms with queen or king size beds, and other amenities.
A couple minute walk to the Davis Square subway station, Bowers House is two stops from Harvard Square, four stops from MIT, and a short commute to downtown Boston, Copley Square, Newbury Street, Symphony Hall, the Theatre District, the North End, and several museums and historical sites. Bowers House is also within walking distance to Tufts University. Bowers House is located in the center of vibrant Davis Square in Somerville, Massachusetts. Davis Square, named one of the fifteen "hippest places to live" in the United States by the Utne Reader in 1997, is home to cafés, restaurants, music clubs, boutiques, theatres, and much more.
