The William Vale, hotel in Brooklyn

With a 60-feet rooftop swimming pool and an award winning chef overseeing the dining options on offer, The William Vale offers accommodations in Williamsburg, across the East River from Manhattan.

Everything about my stay was exceptional. The welcome, service, room and hotel design, etc. Overall, the staff make The William Vale special. They treat guests like family and the joy with which they approach their work shows how much they love what they do and where they work. People to recognize: Sara and Angie in Concierge, Angie at the restaurant Leuca, Melanie at reception, Tshay in housekeeping, and Edwin at the door. Thank you for making my stay so special and making The William Vale my home away from home.

FAQs about hotels in Brooklyn

The Giant of New York

Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

Brooklyn is my home town, so im very familiar with how to get around. This hotel happen to be walking distance to one of my favorite bargin stores of all time. This hotel has a bus stop right in front of it that take you express into the city. During my stay i would walk the few block to the train station and once i was done with my day in the city i would take the express bus straight to the hotel, what a luxury. I always enjoy my time in New York !

Brooklyn is one of the most diverse places on Earth.

Brooklyn is one of the most diverse places on Earth. Old, new, rich, not-so-rich. Every cuisine and kind of neighborhood. Prospect Park is in great shape and safe. The new(ish) waterfront parks by the Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Heights are in super condition and have great view of lower Manhattan. Walking the bridge is a really highlight. So much more reasonable than staying in Manhattan too, and just a really short subway ride to all the best lower Manhattan attractions and neighborhoods. People have a lot of crazy ideas that big cities are bad and broken in the USA. It’s just not true in Brooklyn. It’s a great place that’s better than it was 20-30 years ago.

Amazing view of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline,...

Amazing view of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline, especially when timing with the sunset. Plenty of places to eat. We had a 10 minute walk from our hotel in Dyker Heights to the nearest subway and there were loads of shops, eating places and cafes - including the likes of Victoria's Secrets and Saphora, so I expect the area to be growing and becoming more popular.

The deposit is not clear, and it is not mentioned on...

The deposit is not clear, and it is not mentioned on booking.com. - Staff are kind but for me one staff was racist and I was shouted at and humiliated just for asking to send an invoice. - I recommend the customer service is not that good as it destroyed the image creating a very unsafe environment for me as a customer. - The management needs more personnel for the night shift because, during my stay with the receptionist, I felt unsafe and no one else was present to reassure the staff; instead, my brother had to gently remove me and lead me to the lift. -The rooms are really small and the shower and toilets are in a very small space, for family members sharing a room is very difficult. I would only recommend it if you have a short stay there and I do not recommend it for European travellers as the deposit thing looks like a scam. The currency converter was a bit weird too. I ended up paying 100€ extra and still waiting for my deposit.

You pay for the absolutely stunning views from this hotel. I was upgraded to a higher floor and my view of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan from my window took my breath away. After staying at home for so long, it was refreshing to see a place so beautiful! I took several trips up to the roof to enjoy the gorgeous views and weather. The staff was kind and friendly. The lounge was equally as beautiful and we were seated at the most perfect location. I also tried the cafe downstairs and had a great breakfast. I was so happy with my stay!

It would have been nice to arrive at the hotel I'd booked with Booking.com and which booking.com had confirmed to find it still operating as a hotel instead of arriving late at night with my son in downtown Brooklyn to be told the hotel had been taken over by the authorities and is now operating as a shelter leaving myself and my son alone at night after a 22 hour train journey in downtown Brooklyn with nowhere to stay. THAT would have been nice.

Comfortable and good location for Brooklyn and close enough to the subway to be in Manhattan quicky (Greenpoint station 4 or 5 blocks away.
