We have found that our retirement job of hosting is not a job but a fun experience. The people we meet and relationships we have built with a few of our guests is very rewarding and enjoyable. We started our lives together teaching in Christian Schools after meeting in a Teaching of Reading class at Calvin University in Michigan. Ken is now back at Calvin only now as a professor. Though retired he has never missed a semester teaching there yet since. He still finds time and ways to spend plenty of time in the warm climate of Florida during the cold months of Michigan. It takes much creativity and travel but it works. I have had many paths since teaching. Our family of 7 children and now 11 grandchild add a component to our lives that is the highlight. We have started, owned, and operated 3 daycare centers for 17 years, done community integration, have rental properties in our area, online businesses, and Ken was our township supervisor for 8 years. We owned and operated a wedding chapel and an ice cream shoppe in our community. That along with many other entrepreneurial ventures, we have now settled down to owning and managing vacation homes in Florida. Providing homes with different themes, decor, and design is very enjoyable and just fits for the second half of our lives. God has been good and we are extremely grateful for all His provisions. Hosting is an adventure that changes every day and is as diversified as are our guests. Every restaurant that you may be familiar with plus many many unique establishments are in a close distance to Coastal Imagination Oasis. Google or taking a sight-seeing drive will enable you to discover many many choices for fine dining to quick and tasty. A major location just 12 miles North is Lake Louisa State Park. There are so many activities available to groups, families, or individuals. There is a description of the Park in our listing as well as a far more comprehensive overview on their official website online. Is shopping your entertainment? There is every shopping spot within a few miles either direction from Coastal Imagination Oasis. The Mall at Millenia in Orlando will wow you with the beautiful design and shopping experiences. Even if your shopping leads you to familiar stores, your selection will be a Florida memory. After the busy days of being a Florida tourist you can pull into the community and feel the coming home affect as the boulevard leads you to your vacation home. The 'too peopley' has become a catchy couple of words but it is not one that could be applied to our community. If you want to be by yourself and avoid any dog walking neighbors you can, if you want to chat to the locals you can do that as well. No need to take a road trip to cool off in the pool or have the kids work-off energy on the playground. Looking out the window there is a view of the children's playground adjacent to the kids and adult pools.
