The location is good as we use public transportation, such as buses, and there are several routes nearby (bus stops within easy walking distance) and not long to wait for the bus. We took buses to the museums, mainly. We liked the historic building, built in 1875, with all the architecturual features from then (wood, stained glass, fireplace surround, etc). but definitely appreciated the modernized bathroom with loads of hot water in the shower.

Jenifer United States of America

Just a perfect example of a Victorian home! Comfortable and homey. Delicious breakfast and just the most genuine, warm host and hostess I’ve maybe ever met!!

Amy United States of America

The house host are friendly, you feel relaxed, and the food is wonderful. You have access to tea and snacks as well.

Leymis United States of America

Loved the wonderful breakfast, compliments to the chef. And, as a coffee snob, I have to say the coffee was up to my exacting standards.

Darcie United States of America

The breakfasts were fresh served gourmet! Delicious! Everything was in walking distance or just a quick Uber ride away. The charm and history was over the top fantastic! Eric and Jill are the perfect hosts!

Patricia United States of America

Had very warm greeting and interactions with the Owners the entire time. Was very impressed with everything! Absolutely beautiful property, inside and out..... and excellent location to all of Phili's finest.

Stephani United States of America

Everything was amazing. The hosts were superb. Excellent service. Definitely plan to go back, but this time not for business.

Leticia United States of America

Beautifully restored 1870 Victorian home in prime location within walking distance of Philadelphia Arts District and Drexel University, with wonderfully gracious hosts who did everything right, and socialized with guests, addresses every concern immediately, in probably the best B&B I've ever stayed. We had 2 bedroom Continental Suite which were perfect for my wife, each with a separate room and bed. The entire B&B is filled with historic pieces and more eye candy that there's enough time to see. Breakfast daily was always a surprise as Eric loved creating dishes to surprise us with, working in harmony with his beautiful wife Jill. The young couple are completely committed to doing everything right and making sure customers' stays are perfect. The warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies made for a great reception treat and ice, lemonade, tea, coffee, and biscotti were available throughout the day.

Buzzmeister United States of America

Friendliness of owners, breakfast, help, cleanliness and location amongst beautiful trees. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Olivia United States of America

Thank you so much for taking care of my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. They loved your B and B!

Cornerstone B&B

Built in 1870 as a private residence before being converted to a bed and breakfast, we have retained much of the building's original appearance while modernizing our rooms and suites to meet our guest’s contemporary needs. Our home’s elegant carpentry, original hardwood flooring, and ornate stained glass windows recall all the appeal of a simpler time, yet we are conveniently located near a thriving downtown,

The Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast has been a family run operation since 2008. Eric & Jill Pfaff-Moody are the new owners and are excited to bring modern comfort to this historic home!

The bustling heart of West Philadelphia and the academic epicenter of the entire region, University City is so named due to two of the largest and most influential institutions in town: the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. But though these collegiate giants, sub-anchored by nationally renowned medical hubs, have hands in multiple arenas, the enclave also boasts a magnetic individuality fueled by youthful innovation and commitment to artistic and cultural exploration.

The bed was a little too hard for my girlfriends liking as well as it was a little high up off the ground for her. I am 6 foot tall and even I had some trouble getting in. Maybe place a small stool in the room and it would have been fine.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Hospitality was wonderful and the baked goods we were offered were great. Property and building were well maintained and beautiful.

While breakfast is satisfactory, they are into making combinations (waffle with bacon, potato and eggs in it, and the next day, scrambled eggs with onion and gruyere cheese and peppers) so if there's an ingredient you can't eat, there's not an alternative. Although they did have hard boiled eggs at hand that we put on toast. Coffee was very weak and the only way to get a strong cup is to use the instant mix! Or go upstairs to the Keurig maker and use a Keurig cup.

I didn't have a hairdryer, that was all.

I arrived after a long flight and it was like arriving home or at a favourite Aunt's. It was quiet, warm, welcoming, beautifully furnished. The bed was heavenly. I loved going down for breakfast, food was freshly made, lovely atmosphere.

Loved the wonderful breakfast, compliments to the chef. And, as a coffee snob, I have to say the coffee was up to my exacting standards.

Only drawback--window unit was annoying, but sorely needed to muffle other guests coming up and down stairs.

Everything was amazing. The hosts were superb. Excellent service. Definitely plan to go back, but this time not for business.

Rooms weren't as clean as expected. Especially under the bed, in corners, etc.

Jill and Eric were fantastic hosts. Always a smile on their faces. Good local advice. The breakfast is very good. The period building is beautiful.

“Beautiful Victorian B&B Run by Two Perfect Hosts”
      • • Leisure trip
      • • Couple

I think the breakfasts were a bit on the heavy side for my diet. I know biscuits and gravy and waffles are traditional but I try to avoid unnecessary starches. I'd suggest a little more flexibility and/or simpleness with some dishes. There was quite a large selection of buffet items so there was no problem finding plenty to eat, including various fresh bakery items and fresh fruit, juice, cereal, and a whole variety of snacks, some to eat later. When I dodged the waffles on the 3rd breakfast, Eric had no problem preparing me a special order of fried eggs. I've never stayed at a B&B where I could get an alternative breakfast, so that was a great plus. No alcohol was available for evening cordials.
