Took our 2 preteens boys with us for a long weekend. Was such a great place to stay. The owners messaged us to see if we needed anything shortly after arrival. Our kids had so much fun sledding around the cabin and looking at the deer and birds. The hot tub was amazing. This was a great family vacation, and we look forward to visiting again but maybe leaving the kids with grandma. Was secluded but not so far away from things to do.

Not many great food options.
Not many great food options. Ice castle was cool, Chamonix the new casino and hotel is really nice! Wish I would have stayed there! Very light and welcoming. Ice festival was cool, more venders would be a bonus. It’s all about gambling… not much else to do though. Great views!AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

This area is so beautiful and full of rich history! Charming small town that tells a million stories. And something new to see and learn every visit. The locals are delightful and always engaging in friendly conversation. We stayed at Century casino for our short stay. Friendly staff. Good food. And great location. We enjoyed the Ice Castles exhibit while in town. Toured the Cultural Center which is a must see. What an incredibly well done museum. So much to learn and it’s free! Then toured the Outlaws jail. Also a must see and so much history. Be sure to chat with Michele and pick up food for the donkeys! Feeding the donkeys was our last stop before heading back to Denver and what a unique treat! They were in their winter pens but so excited to see visitors. And they’re so adorable! We enjoyed blue skies after a beautiful snow storm so we were able enjoy the best of both this winter visit. We always enjoy our time and will definitely be back!

we’ve lived not far from Cripple Creek most of our lives. We enjoyed it when it was a quiet place with only one grocery store and my husband rode his bike up Bennet avenue as a child. This time of year, gambling is about all you can do and we aren’t big on gambling, but did enjoy the ice castles. We were lied to about our booking at the Golden Nugget, we were rudely told our confirmation was their business office by an extremely rude front desk and had to spend the night at the Golden King….NEVER GO THERE!! We had a hamburger at Woodys Sports bar….dont do that either. Weather in the summer is glorious and the views are amazing. Winter can be a little challenging. Mine tours are fun, the museum was fun.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0
There is so much history there!
There is so much history there! The museums are all wonderful and informative. The buildings are rich with history and locals are always willing and ready to talk about it! The casinos are okay, they give you something to do in the evening I suppose however, the newest one Chamonix is a complete eyesore and ruins the majestic scenery you would normally get in this peaceful mountain town.

Lovely little place, was Cripple Creek!!
Lovely little place, was Cripple Creek!! High altitude caused my partner to breath heavy walking uphill, but he managed fine. I am a native of this state, and can breathe anywhere. My hobby is finding unique little thrift stores, and Cripple Creek has one!!!We wish our time in the casino had included a REAL Blackjack table instead of an avatar with big boobs, but you can't win 'em all!!
