One couple in our group felt their upstairs room was a little too warm and wished they had a fan.

Breakfast was a bit unique and not really our cup of tea. It was good...but more traditional would have been better for us. Carpet in the bedroom looked like it could use a cleaning.
Location...the fact it was an actual jail...our room was very roomy. The staff was outstanding from the owner to all of the team.

I had read reviews that the rooms had an overpowering laundry smell. Usually when a hotel has to use room spray they are trying to cover up mold. I sent two messages to the inn asking about the room spray and mold with no reply. Finally I called and spoke to the head of housekeeping. She told me they do use a spray but they would not use it before we arrived because I am really sensitive to mold and strong room sprays. She also told me there was no mold. Upon arrival my friend and I walked into our rooms and we were almost knocked over due to the strong smell of Fabreeze and mold. I instantly started wheezing. I spoke to Paul about the situation. He adamantly denied the use of room spray which was a lie. My friend and I went next door to determine what to do...? We decided to move to the hotel next door. Paul was not happy when we told him we could not stay there. I told him I messaged him twice with no reply. He said...”oh I remember that.” I said why didn’t you reply..? I told him I cannot breathe in a moldy or perfumed room. Needless to say...he still charged us $40 each. Do not stay here if you are allergic to mold! The jail could really be nice but it needs to be totally remodeled! Last remodel was probably in the 80’s.
