Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island, hotel in Fernandina Beach

Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island Amelia Island in Amelia Island provides accommodations with free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court.

There is no elevator to second level which is not acceptable for elderly. The room was clean and comfortable. They charge a fee for parking which is outrageous. They have a huge lot. It’s gouging the customer.

beach very nice. very poor city planning.

beach very nice. very poor city planning. The houses on the beach area all on Hwy A1A and very close to the VERY busy and noisy road. It is actually a dangerous road...too close to houses and people speed. the downtown was fun....great restaurants and the Amelia Island boat tour was great.

Like the location, not too crowded, traffic is good, lots of places to eat. Road biking and trails are a plus and love the downtown area and thrift and antique stores. Not overly commercial really feels like a residential area, not touristy.

We love the historic areas and the quaint downtown shopping.

We love the historic areas and the quaint downtown shopping. The beach is 5 minutes away and there is golf for anyone interested. Also, we took a boat trip from the harbour to Cumberland Island which was very informative. Fernandina has excellent restaurants too.

Way bigger than a hotel. Close to almost every thing.

Way bigger than a hotel. Close to almost every thing. Washer, dryer, and dishwasher were welcomed. Felt safe. Some website info did not match. Videos about how to check in were helpful. The no pets policy not enforced. White cat hair on rugs, carpet and/or floor. Inspection notification came a day after the inspection. Facilities fellow and inspector just walked in with no knocking. Facilities guy thought the place was unoccupied. Communication glitch.

it has lots of historical information and things to check out the museum of natural history that is housed in an old jail thta has recently been redone just a little bit but its still authentic and they have a historian lead tour i think saturdays its worth checking out. if you are a person that likes to sample spirits there is a place called marlin\barrel that does tastings daily everything they provide you is made on site the vodka in particalar is super smooth and nice. for food you have to check out moon river pizza you think you know the best pizza just try theirs. lots of good shopping downtown. I know this will sound strange but there is a Walmart there that is not a super Walmart not a marketplace, but it is the size of a Walmart store when they first opened and it just takes me super far back to see what i grew up with to what i have now if you find this Walmart i highly recommend you go there for a time warp back to the 90's lol if you are into that.

We have stayed there many times before but always in the same condo on the beach. The town really has many of the same stores and restuarants. The park is a putt putt course now which is fun. The streets are absolutely beautiful at night. It looks like a fairy tale. The beaches are clean and go on for miles. There a a resturant. The Sand Bar with brick oven pizza but eating outside is a battle with the seagulls stealing food off your plate.

The facilities are beautiful, the oceanfront location for a bed and breakfast is RARE! breakfast was wonderful and they go out of your way to make it a step up from your average hotel - complimentary beach chairs/umbrella/towels, tea/coffee service always available, blankets/bottled water/fresh fruit/cookies there for the taking in the lobby, etc. Staff was exceptionally personable and welcoming.

The cottages were very clean and spacious. They are half a mile to the beach, and there are about 5 restaurants walking distance. We didn't hear all the noise you usually hear at a hotel. We definitely will rebook. Plus, the prices were better than the others in that area. I definitely recommend it.

Room was so small, you couldn't move around with 2 people without stepping aside. Fridge cabinet door broken. Musty smell. So musty, carpet and sheets felt damp. Stayed only 1 night and cancelled remaining two nights because we hated the room. Booked another hotel for remaining 2 nights.

Location was great. We chose an oceanfront apartment so that we could see from the balcony. Elevator was quick, very little waiting. We never had an issue finding a parking spot close to our building. Easy walk to the beach.

We liked the "beach cottage" atmosphere, with the raised walkways to the cottages. Also, it feels more private than having to walk through a hotel/motel lobby.
