This is a quirkily decorated, boutique hotel which is very welcoming. The staff were helpful and friendly, although not always on the front desk. The bed was very comfortable and the room a pleasure to spend time in, once the gas fireplace was lit.

Quite a nice little find in San Francisco Union Square area. It's like a French pension transplanted into the city, with all the charm and coziness you'd expect from a pension, including some rooms with gas fireplaces and a cozy breakfast area in the lower floor.

The hotel had this what we call as Old World Charm. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It had a fire place to boast of. The decor and furnishings of the room and other common places were very artistic. There were a few cozy places in the hotel for the guests to sit and enjoy. There was running coffee, cans of soft drinks, water bottles and ice kept at a common place for the free use of guests. The breakfast was good and the evening ritual of wine and nibbles was a great initiative. It helped the guests to sit and interact with other guests, tasting different wines and eating different cheese, crackers and grapes. All the staff were very nice, helpful and jovial. Overall, it was a great stay and we enjoyed it to the hilt.

We had traumatic travel to USA and hotel was so soothing and welcoming.Complementary breakfast, even though we haven’t had a chance to consume it was a bonus. Got upgraded to large ‘suite’in White Swan sister hotel as Petite Auberge overbooked.Hotel seems to have been recently renovated in old time style. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Good selection for breakfast. Hotel in good location near Union Sq.and Chinatown.
