I stayed at this hotel before last year and the first time I walked into the lobby and saw how clean it was, I thought to myself I wonder if the rooms are the same and sure enough they where. The. counter personal was very nice and greeted me in a welcome home manner. I love the room very spacious and clean although the sofa bed looked like it needed to be replaced. The location is good there's a gas station across and a Walmart so I love hotels where you can actually walk to get things you need although is a bit like hidden but it's not important and the hotel alone looks like it's safe no sketchy people and it's quiet and the rooms are big and spacious and clean so I love it

Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.
Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.
Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.
The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

It was not so easy to find out places do have quick meals near the George Brown Convention Center. I believe the region must have several options, specially the ones we can eat quicly, not spending lots of money.

Food scene in Houston is fantastic.
Food scene in Houston is fantastic. Plenty of shopping in all price ranges. Museum of Fine Arts and Houston Zoo definitely worth a visit. All professional sports except hockey available. University of Houston and Rice with athletic teams worth watching. Assume Space Center is of interest but personally have not visited.

City is spread out wide and hardly any high rise buildings.
City is spread out wide and hardly any high rise buildings. Most high rises concentrated downtown only. Traffic heavy, fast crazy drivers. Lots of wide highways, flyovers. interchanges. Don't need use of TOLL roads to get by. Most tolls have secondary dual lanes running parallel to them.
TEMPERATURES were very high 85+ in August.
Nothing worth seeing expect NASA centre and that is good for 1 day only.
Not a city for tourist.

Houston is a great destination!
Houston is a great destination! Nice things to do downtown and not really crowded (but there were no major league games going on at the time). We drove over to the museum district and went to the Color Factory Museum which was a lot of fun and interactive. We also went to the Holocaust Museum which was very good. It was helpful to hear specific stories about families from Houston that survived the Holocaust. Such a horrible time in history that is necessary to pass on to all humans to prevent it from EVER happening again! Lots of great food around town too...Ninfa''s (the Original) was phenomenal as well as Xochi!! Also, highly recommend the two hour tour of Minute Maid Park! So fun to hear about the Astros history and visit so many areas of the stadium! The tour guides knew so much information and were excellent communicators! Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and will recommend to visitors!

The news about electricity outages since hurricane Beryl are...
The news about electricity outages since hurricane Beryl are understated. A week following Beryl there are outages all over town. All the motels that have electricity are booked solid with locals whose homes are without electricity. The big hotels are also mostly full even at $400+ per night. A lot of street intersections are without electricity, so driving is hazardous, creeping through intersections. Booking.com should have known about this when I booked my room at a Comfort Inn near the Galleria. The Comfort Inn had been closed for 6 days when I showed up. Trying to get alternative lodging became a nightmare.

I keep seeing growth each time I come.
I keep seeing growth each time I come. I try see as much as I can in the time I have. I’m not a fan off all the toll roads. I think state needs a better pay plan to fund their infrastructure. But I enjoyed my visit and hope others will come and see, but not after a storm.
The breakfast options were quite varied, not just limited to items like toast, muffins, and biscuits, along with milk and coffee. Overall, it was much better than the so-called continental breakfasts of the past, and I found it satisfactory. The accommodation was nearly a 30-minute drive from the city center. Since we were traveling by car and had no particular desire to stay downtown, I found the location of this hotel to be acceptable.
After being delayed on a flight so we had to find an overnight hotel in Houston, the staff were so warm and welcoming, they made sure we had dinner service even though it was late, and we were a family of 10 travelling together. Were able to relax in the pool and hot tub the next day before heading back to the airport for our long flight. Would recommend.
I chose The Whitehall because I need a downtown hotel and it seemed to offer better VFM than other hotels. I was very pleased with the hotel the staff were very well trained and efficient. My room was very spacious and well appointed. I had breakfast at Edgar's Hermano at the Hotel every morning. It was excellent.
Helpful, friendly staff esp. afternoon/evening receptionist. Large, clean rooms, good facilities incl. a bath!. Central location (Downtown), near Metro trams, handy to museums etc. Hotel swimming pool a bonus.
