Our room was exceptionally clean and spiffy. The art on the walls was wonderful. The bathroom sink fixture was the coolest I have ever had the pleasure to wash my hands under.

We stayed in the economy room... small, neat not fancy in construction but delightful in setting. The bed was comfortable ... the morning breakfast had great choices. The very best part of the stay was chatting with the owner and seeing all the unique things to make that stay wonderful... campfire, swings, hammock, artwork tended to lull you into a sense of "Ahhh... I'm on vacation."

It was very clean. From our room we couldn't hear any road noise. Our room was very cute and everything matched. We also had a good breakfast and the staff and owner were very nice and caring about our stay being good.

The farm across the road was a little loud very early in the morning, but it was a monday and that sort of added to the country experience anyway.

One of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. I’m super skiddish when it comes to hotels. Even in really nice ones I always feel very uneasy and scared of bugs and whatnot, but this place was SO clean. I felt like I was at my own home. Slept like a baby and for a great price too.

The Hardwood Hill Motel goes above and beyond in creating a quaint, artsy aesthetic throughout the whole property. The green spaces by the road act as a gallery of local artists' sculptures, complete with placards that explain who made it, where, and how much it would cost to buy. There is even more art in each of the rooms, where locally made paintings are on display (also all for sale!). The interior and exterior design of the motel matches the creative tone, using pastel versions of cheery colors to light up the cozy rooms without overwhelming the eye. The units are not particularly spacious, but they make good use of the room layout to avoid feeling cramped. The bathrooms seemed updated and well-kept, again maximizing the functionality of limited space. My boyfriend is 6'7" and had no complaints! The continental breakfast assortment had a decent variety of tasty foods- fresh fruit (blueberries, apples, bananas), cereal, granola, yogurt and assorted pastries/toppings. I was pleased to see sustainable wooden utensils handed out rather than plastic ware. At every encounter the staff was friendly and helpful, always asking if there was anything I needed. I had no issues keeping my dogs overnight here, since there were plenty of trash barrels around the property to dispose of waste. Also something to note- there is a steak house/tavern right next door, totally within walking distance. Bring a nice outfit if you plan to go out to dinner there. I would highly recommend the Hardwood Hill Motel in the future, and will be returning!

It is absolutely clean and really cute. The sheets were clean and spotless. I would highly recommend this place. Staff is great and if you are looking for a clean and comfortable space this is for you!
