My family and I can't imagine staying in a house built in 1884. It was really well maintained. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Love the colorful building. If you're use to staying in "hotels", this place is certainly not for you.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. There was a heavy snow storm when I was there and the staff did an excellent job clearing the walk ways and the drive way. I also liked that the front door is locked and one has to ring the door bell to be allowed in. This means the establishment really cares about their guests and of course new comers are always quickly welcomed in.

I really liked the friendly vibe and the wide variety of ages of people staying there. It has a well tooled community kitchen and a nice big table to eat at or set up laptops where guests interact. They also have a great common room with comfortable furniture and a variety of musical instruments and lots of videos to watch.

    Please be sure to check for current road closures during winter months. Highway 120 (Tioga Pass) typically closes from late October until late May. When the Tioga Pass Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east. All other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year.
